This is my interpretation of the ending:

The Autumn Ballad is very good in terms of romance but ruined by the haphazard ending. The Long Ballad's romance is pretty good too but not as good as The Autumn Ballad. Furthermore, The Long Ballad is ruined by the fighting scenes which are basically in comic drawing form. The Wolf is good but the relationship is rather toxic for some viewers. So I would recommend The Autumn Ballad first, then followed by the other two :)

This drama is very cute, and Zhang Binbin is so good looking. But it comes apart after the second half. Try the Autumn Ballad and A Dream of Splendor.

I couldn't get into Ren Jialun's dramas before this one too. But he looks exquisite in this one.

Indeed, they're all very good, portraying women need to be strong and independent, and not relying on the men who may let them down. Even in this new version, Zhao Pan'er has thought Gu Qianfan lets her down (he disappears without telling her and she doesn't know he leaves her the money for her restaurant investment), so she has to be strong herself to overcome her obstacles.

Actually in the original version, the scholar who Zhao Pan'er is interested in, is attracted to Yinzhang when he first sees her. So Zhao Pan'er is feeling kind of sad. But then Yinzhang is attracted to the scumbag Zhou Shi and marries him, leaving the scholar very sad. When Yinzhang gets divorced, he goes back to Yinzhang again, and hence happily ever after (HEA) except for Zhao Pan'er. In this new version, luck shifts with Zhao Pan'er getting the HEA ending :D
