I saw the show out on Friday night but did not click into it (thought it is another fabulous whatever show few months ago by Netflix in Korea). Started it on Saturday morning and I binged til midnight. It is enjoyable and some twists were hard to guess. Overall, nice watch

Mother left China after divorce and went back to US (where she grew up) and became a world famous architect. in the email from FL to his mom, my understanding is that ML does not want to ask the mother's help, that he wants his mother to take the initiative. Novel did not really explain in detail but i guess i see it as: proud and stubborn son won't want to ask for mother's attention and care. he wants her to take the initiative to come back to China to check on him and care for him.
To be honest I watching Chinese drama more than 4 years but i am still not understanding their language....
Haha chinese is one of the most complicated languages in the world. 4 years of watching drama wont even bring u any where. My husband has learnt chinese since 3 years old and he is jz good enough for normal communication.

Just finish all the episodes after paying for express in tencent app. It is pretty good. Overall nice drama, great chemistry. I read the novel so I understand the business side. Otherwise the business parts are a little hard to follow in the drama.
