Thank you for clarifying . What bothers me most is the way abuse/assault seems completely normalized in most lakorns. It truly is beyond me. I personally am not triggered by it, but I imagine some people can't even watch any lakorn when it's depicted so much. That said, I don't think it will stop me from watching KC if the FL handles it in a decent way. I don't expect the lakorn to be critical either in that regard, but it would still be more satisfying than just glossing over it as if it's nothing. And I'll take a look at the others listed, they seem really interesting! Plus it will be refreshing to get away from the usual tropes.

Thank you so so much for this article. I often avoid watching lakorns even if the story looks promising, because I've only come across ones with borderline (or straight up) abusive relationships and I. Hate. It. I was really stunned to see how common it was in lakorns and it made me very reluctant to start anything new. I just don't get how a complete lack of respect for other people - especially your significant other - can in any way be appealing. Ever. On the other hand I'm often debating with myself on whether to check the tags or not, as it also means possible huge spoilers on the story. But thanks to you, I'll be able to pick up lakorns again, and satisfying ones, at that. Once again, thank you :)

Of course Seoul and Tokyo are on my list too.
