There's no guarantee her son would have been born. She didn't know she was pregnant so she wouldn't have directed her spiritual energy to protect the fetus while undergoing punishment for 10 years. Also her first disciple would have likely gotten himself killed as he can't stand injustice and isn't afraid of death.

In the end she didn't trust him. She didn't believe he actually loved her. BJS loved her more than himself.
