The cast reunion in a romcom that we need but don't deserve
couldn't have said it better myself! i seriously couldn't believe my eyes when i saw the thumbnail of the youtube trailer. "the witch" but in an alternate universe
the first few episodes had me laughing out of my seat!! sangqi made a bet to get yuyanzhi to accept her pouch but he wouldn't no matter what even when she became a student at the imperial college. yeah it had a bunch of typical romcom cliches but the show actually made it fun to watch them unfold on the screen. and then slowly they fell in love with each other and my gosh the scenes were so cute to watch! it got a bit angsty and full of palace politics from 20-28 but then we got our happy ending
Final thoughts after finishing this drama...Skipped a whole bunch but was enjoyable overall. I also just realized…
Lol same. It was pretty good in the beginning but then the middle lulled a bit so I had to skip through some parts. I'm looking for my next drama to watch, what's NIF?
now THIS is what princess weiyoung should've been like! this was an awesome drama with cute moments between the OTP. i had watched peng xiao ran's previous work in "goodbye my princess" and glad that her character got a happy ending here.
i wish they would have showed more scenes of her attending police academy, it was used as her reason to leave the mansion and then never addressed again. the bullying was uncomfortable to watch no matter how much he "liked" her
I watched season 1 and felt so worked up and frustrated the entire time. Definitely not a "relaxing" drama to watch. Now I just keep up to date on the plot from youtub3 clips
The start of this was great but then it fell victim to the typical filler episode plot (I think it would've done better as a 16 episode series). Some of the editing was a bit choppy and sometimes characters did things that didn't make sense. The last two episodes were...heart wrenching as in it was a complete purge of all the characters you had been rooting for. I ended up skipping through the episodes to get to the end. The ending shows her alive but I think that's just the memory of her that's alive not the actual person as JQL buried her and they even showed her tombstone.
The celeb dads were surprised with a "Return of Superman" concept which gradually evolved in a hybrid of "Battle Trip" (visiting as many locations/doing as many activities in the cities they visited) and ROS. The children were oh so cute. Yingying/Debbie was the oldest and quite mature already with how things work. The non-celeb twins, Victor and John, wow they sure were two brave brothers! Going onto a show without their parents and basically staying with strangers for 3 whole weeks! Lucky is so adorable and her love for her parents is just as adorable. I hope the relationship between the Hong brothers get better; it seems like the little brother dislikes the older brother for some reason...and they both cry...a lot. XiaoJiu was the youngest one I think and definitely going through a terrible two spoiled phase (I hope so). Overall, it was a cute series to watch and based on the last episode, it hinted at a season 2 which I don't think will happen given that this was filmed back in 2018.
If you want a drama just to pass the time with no real "heavy" plot or drama development, watch this. The ML is scum to say the least and he suddenly falls in love in the FL? What a random change in personality...the ending was...open and a bit huh? But it's a happy ending so I'm content.
Started watching for ZLH (after his amazing performance in Maiden Holmes). This was an interesting plot for sure, and taps into what a potential future for AI might look like. Can I just say that Qianya's outfits were ALWAYS on fleek and in every scene she was in, she gave off that boss woman vibe? So cool, she might be my favorite character from the series. As a contacts wearer, I was a bit alarmed at the constant "recycling" of the Love Boys lenses lol but it's dramaland so I'll let it slide. Overall it was a very fluffy drama that didn't take itself too seriously
