I've never watched Dreaming Back to Qing Dinasty but in this drama, I think it's related to his role as 'immortal soon-to-be true god' character. Usually immortal or god in xianxia is supposed to be heartless, giving such stick-to-the rules attitude and not openly showing their emotion.

I haven't read the original novel so I only assume from the drama, water beast AYin is the first tribulation. And then in the beginning when AYin just got back to Naihe River, she said she already went through 20 reincarnations in mortal world? Is reincarnation not the same as tribulation?

I know this drama doesn't fully follow the original novel but can anyone spoil me what kind of misunderstanding happen in the novel that makes the ML kill the FL? I couldn't find the novel in English translation.

I remember reading the novel last year, back then I imagined Zhao Lusi as Shen Miao. Then I saw her in LLTG and was totally excited because her character background is almost similar to this one, a daughter who grown up in military family. I thought it'd be great if she could take this role but then I realise she has never take similar role🥺
Other than Zhao Lusi, I think Zhou Ye would be great to portray Shen Miao character. As for Xie Jin Xing, Zhang Linghe is my dream cast.

Kunning Palace is more about political intrigue in the palace. Both ML and FL are morally grey, scheming all the way to the palace, one for revenge and the other one for power. FL get 2nd chance and get back to the past before she enter the palace but end up still caught in the palace drama. They has released all eps.

The Last Immortal is more of fantasy romance and adventure drama (gods, immortals, demons. They have all of it.) In the earlier eps you'll see both FL and ML are are weak, good-for-nothing😂 You won't find any ML as weak and useless as the one in this drama (oops sorry Yuanqi😁) they actually have unordinary background tho (you really need to watch it to know more😉). Because of an accident, ML needs to be responsible for finding young phoenix spirit soul so they embark the journey together to collect all the spirit soul in the three realms. Friendship, love, comedy and angst are served in this drama. It's still ongoing and only available until 6 eps.

They're both different in genre but equally great drama for this year
