So I think A Yu is kind of a redemption for Yuanqi and a way to open a new beginning for Fengyin-Yuanqi era, a reason for Feng Yin to atleast start to listen to his reason.
We know that AYin's biggest dream is to revive her clan and AYu is the only family left. AYu is the reason she works hard to get an official position in Heavenly Palace so that she can claim an ownership of Ningyun mountain, to nurture 'egg' AYu.
After she realised about all the tremendous gap, status difference, and responsibilities between God Yuanqi and her, she might give up on her love for Yuanqi, but she didn't (and wouldn't) give up on the idea of reviving her clan.
