This movie was sweet and it felt good to watch, I really enjoyed it. I had read the manga beforehand but I think I enjoyed the movie more. It's just really cute.
I don't understand the appeal of this movie. What made me enjoy the manga was the way that different teenagers reacted in different ways in an extreme situation. Some tried to help, some only thought about themselves, some commited suicide, some went insane, etc. And in the manga we get to see the psychology behind their behaviors through flashbacks and explanations of their characters/past, and that's what I loved about it. The movie tho... in less than 2 hours we only got to see teenagers killing each other, and it wasn't even as brutal (and shocking) as it was in the manga due to the very explicit and exaggerate artstyle. The movie felt very lukewarm to me, almost boring.
My only complaint about this adaptation is the fact that the actor who plays Zera has more delicate features than the actor who plays Jaibo, it should be the opposite since Jaibo is supposed to look androgynous. Other than that, I loved it!
Not bad tho, and Techi was great.
