A very good, very enjoyable film. I know it's based on Fingersmith but I think they kept the mystery better here - what you think is happening isn't necessarily happening. It reminded me of Seven Queens, just with an added dash of LBGTQ+ erotica. Plus, fantastic acting all 'round.

The title of the article is badly worded. 'Hold' as in pause? Seems it's supposed to mean 'keep' or 'have'? Should…
This 'writer' isn't. I thought first of all he/she was just inexperienced. and didn't write English well. But now I think it's one of the mods/admin, vomiting up poorly translated articles from other sites as clickbait. MDL is trying to sell itself off, so has created a bunch of fake handles to drive traffic (which will affect the price).

Umm, it is exactly like the synopsis says that they are unable to be together due to lame politics. The drama…
He did. 12 or so. Had kids with a lot of them, too.

What an ending! In real life, did the queen bear the King child after dethronement?
No, he had 12 other queens/consorts/concubines, and lots of kids with them, but none with her.

Reading the synopsis sounds like they're trying to make another Move to Heaven.
Its decent but nowhere as good as MTH.

I don't think it's GYJ's fault, she did the best she could with a spineless and bland character she was given;…
The first half had a plot (or several). This was like fanfic written by a very thick 15 year old who wanted to see more 'womance'. It's not any of the actor's faults.

Until you experience something like this you can understand why life and love make no sense
Ah, the profound romanticising of complete toxicity. I was once told (by a repulsive elderly man, of course) that the reason I didn't let him fuck me was that I had "never, truly, loved".

She looks exactly her age. The romance between the two is something that I cannot comprehend. The pressure to…
I don't think a 40 something man and a 40-50 something woman falling in love is at all unbelievable. The mistake the writers made was to write her as much younger than she looks. As if a man can only fall in love with a woman if she's younger than him.

There’s a lot of other similarly good dramas where the main leads are not involved romantically but they work…
You've named 5 of my favourite dramas.

May I Help You. Probably the most emotionally intelligent leads in a drama I have seen and this despite all the…
Those are 2 excellent dramas.

I loved this. It's very much in the same vein as Tomorrow and Move to Heaven and Missing:the Other Side (some of my favourites), though there's more romance in this. The acting is really good, from almost everybody, but particularly the priest and uncle. I think 8.2 is a low score considering some of the absolute drivel that has scored much higher.

I do feel sorry for the actors in this, even the not-very-good female lead. What is it about Korean drama writers that they're allowed to get away with so much misogynistic crap? The FLs are so often squeaky, childish and dumb as a box of hair (and desperate for a man, of course), the MLs might be evil, but are intelligent, nuanced and charismatic.

I don't think this drama was actively bad, but do think the writers focused on the wrong parts - i.e. the rather unappetising 'romance'.
