You started by saying it was a buzzword (it isn't) and then moved on to slagging off feminism. A gold digger is the anti-feminist. I'm going to guess . . . creepy (possibly Indian) man who can't understand why 'those bitches' don't fancy him. Amirite?
I agree, he's not the best. But lots of the prettier Korean actors (both sexes) skate by on the blank-faced schtick. Or they have 2/3/4 expressions only. Why not him?
I'm sure there's a very similar film already in existence (there are unseen 'monsters' in a mist, eventually mercy killings on a bus, but when the mist clears its the military come to save them).
The appetite for childish 'romance' dramas (main audience: eternally single, middle-aged women) definitely diminishes outside of East Asia but there's still a heartland in in, say, the US flyover states, India and the Philippines, so I wouldn't write it off just yet.
In Germany there's an idiom, that "nice" is the little sibling of "shit". Basically using the word "nice" usually…
Yeah, it means much the same in English. It's an inoffensive way of saying "I can't think of anything more interesting to say about this person". But, to be fair, Korea is the only place where this would be 'news' too.

In that film brother X pursues the chauffeur's daughter but brother Y tries to intervene as it will mess up a planned corporate merger.
And, of course, in trying to get her out of the picture, he falls in love with her himself.
They've just swapped 'playboy' for 'gay'.
