They definitely glorify going home with (strange) men whilst drunk, despite the fact that a number of women, just in SKorea's entertainment industry alone, have been sexually assaulted in those circumstances. It's almost as if there is a perverts forum that offers the writers a bung. That and the way that the government is aligned with the booze industry.
These comments lol... K-Media and K-culture may promote drinking culture but it doesn't promote drunk driving.…
But kdrama does promote getting so blackout drunk you wander the streets, in a daze, late at night, vomit on strangers, go home with men you don't know, or walk into traffic and have to be 'saved'. All of this, in female characters, is 'cute' apparently.
let's try not to excuse him too much, dui is not something someone should do even not even if you are over the…
I'm not excusing him. DUI is disgusting (see also Kim Sae-ron who not only drove drunk but caused harm to others) but I wonder why dramas continue to portray terrifying levels of alcohol abuse as funny/sexy/romantic.
Is there any other country on earth that expects the level of saintly perfection from its actors as Korea? And…
Yes, weird that terrifying levels of alcoholism are encouraged in dramas, particularly in women: the traditional vomiting, blind drunk and gropey, going home with randoms tropes.
I was more surprised he was wearing underwear. Who takes shower in their underwear???
I've travelled in places where people, paricularly women, bathe semi dressed (particularly in modest places, where bathing is done in the local river, etc) but in urban Seoul in your own private bathroom? Nah.
When this show was announced, kdrama fans swore is gonna be the next scarlet heart. Sorry, not felling the acting,…
The FL has been good in other things but spends most of this doing the 'shocked' face. And the ML needs to be told that narrowing your eyes a lot only conveys limited emotions,
I hope I see some acting, in the next couple of episodes, from both the leads in My Demon, rather than constant closeups of their (pretty, but heavily made-up) faces and that blank and/or boggle-eyed thing.
The plot sounds very like Death on the Nile (prettier, richer woman 'steals' her friend's fiance, and marries him, only its a set-up with friend and husband conspiring to get hold of rich woman's wealth and then kill her).
I will never watch Alchemy of Soul 2 because they left out Jung So Min. They should have given her the contract.
AOS 2 was pure fan service. The writers replaced a complex, expressive nuanced young woman with a thirsty teen, deleted all semblance of plot and lost the bromance and wit that made AOS1 so charming.. But it was the fault of the writers, rather than the replacement actress.
