Does "She has a particularly strong libido" mean that this 30/40-something woman does not simper or screech like an unusually naive teenager whenever a male of the species hoves into view?
I have watched the original French series, which was absolutely fantastic. I didn't even bother with English version.…
The English one was garbage - they tried to stick to the French original TOO closely and some things don't translate. The Korean one is decent (so far) but I do think they could have handled the too-old-for-Tarantino story line in a more Korean way; a Korean actress refusing some minor 'work' lacks credibility. The English one also lacked star power (the French has Isabelle Adjani FFS). The Korean one, again, seems better in that respect.
Crazy Love was awful - a twee tsunami of bad tropes. Plus the pure cringe of hundreds of women screeching, fangirlstyle, over a bloke running a cram school.
"Harbin" is a period spy movie that revolves around Korean independence activists in the early 1900s who launched a daring attack in Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang which is China’s northernmost province, against the Japanese to gain their country’s independence.
"The movie is much-anticipated not just because of the big celebrity names attached to the project but also because of its potentially controversial subject. In 2014, Japan criticised a memorial honouring activist Ahn Jung Geun who assassinated Prime Minister Hirobumi Ito at Harbin Station in China in 1909. While Ahn Jung Geun is celebrated as a hero in South Korea, he is seen as a controversial figure in Japan."
i hope it will be a good one. I am sorry but ever since Let's Fight Ghost I haven't enjoyed any of her dramas…
I like her as a baddie (in her earlier dramas) but in her 'romance' roles she's very blank faced. Great if she can prove me wrong and show some acting/emotions.
That coffee-sweet company must have paid for the whole drama. Apart from the egregiously obvious (and relentless) product placement and the last-minute noble idiocy trope I quite liked this, but the MVPs for me were Gwan Nam and the head prosecutor and his 'queen'.
Kwak Shi Yang is one of my favorite actors. Compare the glowering evil of his character in LOTRS with the lovable buffoon in Cafe Minmidang. Hard to believe it's the same person. That's what top-notch acting is. Not playing yourself or standing around decoratively blank-faced but inhabiting your character.
About? For? Why do the mods/admin never edit?
