In the original (French) version they break up because the FL cheats on the tax inspector (both women in that version) but they get back together again in season 3 or 4. In the original version Je In and Joong Don are never an item - but then France doesn't suffer from the 'shipping' fetish.

Agree - it made it too much Victorian Melodrama. I almost expected her sex-pest boss to tie her to some train tracks. But the second is better.

He didn't exist in the timeline in which Hyunwoo was killed. so that would breach the grandfather principle, I think.

Damn, I wish that little kid had lasted more than an episode and a bit. Korea has the best child actors . . .

I agree. I don't know why Korean dramas feel the need to have a - often chemistry-free - romantic pairing in almost every single drama, however ill-fitting to the rest of the story. It makes me worry about the state of Korean/international womanhood that they can't enjoy something unless it contains unconvincing simpering and a Big White Wedding.

They're cousins (legal in some parts of the world) not siblings, but as far as she is concerned he is her (a) first cousin, illegal in Korea and (b) married so I agree there can't be romantic/sexual chemistry. But unless you come from a weird cult, romantic/sexual chemistry isn't all there is to life.

Except that it wasn't a parody. Nothing was subverted.
