It's been a long time since she played a villain role... she only does lead roles now.
I saw her in some of those early roles and thought she had promise but she was utterly flat in both Radio Romance and Love Alarm - I thought she might have caught that pretty actress/actor disease where blank faced staring=acting. To be fair the ML, too, did that a lot of the time in AoS. I hope one of them will show a bit of energy in this project - assuming it goes ahead.
I wonder how many times Hwang Jung Eum will either (a) screech like a banshee or (b) clutch at a male character's groin/legs while delivering her role?
lol did you watch Today's Webtoon too? Cause I'm still bitter about episode 14.
Me too. It's not that forgiveness can't happen - often that's important for the abused person to move on, too. It's the trivialising of the abusers actions and the weird (Confucian, not Catholic) thing that if the abuser is a parent everything they do - up to and including murder - can be justified.
I don't really see the connection between nevertheless and this show so I'm not really sure how nevertheless was…
Nevertheless was one of the most boring things I've ever watched. The amount of blank-faced staring was off the charts. Even the highly-choreographed, very slow, lots of filters 'sex' scenes were boring. Some of the side stories were good but they weren't enough to save it.
None of the leads are bad at their craft but I think the number of late 20s/mid-30s actors who can - convincingly - play teenagers is fairly limited. The FL in 2521 is the only exception that springs to mind.
I love this in many respects, I loved that there was no (overt) romance, but lots of friendship, I loved the team chemistry and the interesting vignettes about the artists. I'm knocking a point off for the twee/trite/dishonest way they dealt with serious child abuse, neglect and abandonment.
I think they should have dropped the 'romance' (at least the one between Dan Yi and Eun Ho) for a better overall drama. They seem more like - bickering - siblings than a couple and when they do, finally, get together she's clearly not into it - she seems repulsed by him if anything. But I liked the window into the publishing industry and most of the performances were solid.
Another jarring thing is how, after the first couple of episodes, she completely forgets/disappears her own daughter, but I can see that's been covered by other commentators.
Seriously, I've lost count of the number of Korean dramas whose description includes the line that one, or both of the leads are 'not interested in love' (or relationships). You can guarantee they'll be macking over someone in episode 1.
Not as good as the first season, also is it just me or does Yu Mi break reltionships for what seems trival points.nobody…
But its realistic. Some men/women, even if they're not all that themselves, have high/impossible standards for their partners. They want to not only control how he/she behaves, but how they think and feel, too.
I love this, it's completely silly but wojus entertaining. But why does the FL never change that pink, fringe-sleeved frock? It must hum to high heaven by now.
Could you tell me what is the age gap between the leads please? Not in real life, but in drama.
Not sure. At the start he is 19/20 and she is mid 30s to early 40s, I think (based on how she looks) but late 20s (based on the fact that she's a recently qualified teacher) so who knows?
