Honestly, I think that moment came at the end of the episode. When PEte told him that Kinn just saved his life. It FINALLY kicked in for Porsche that this is some serious shit and that he needs to take things seriously, even if he doesn't want to be there
After rewatching the episode, I have some thoughts.
The mirror scene of Kinn holding up the tie to Porsche - is it just attraction or was this something he used to do with a past lover? It felt like attraction but it also felt like at the moment, Kinn slipped back into old habits he used to have with someone and the spell broke when Porsche looked back at him with a clear and confident gaze
I think Kinn is attracted to Porsche physically, but at the moment, he became comfortable with Porsche and it felt natural to help style him similar to how lovers would want to dress each other up. Beyond Porsche's gorgeous looks and his overall chaotic nature, Kinn seems to appreciate that Porsche can't hide emotions. If he's happy, he's the sun. If he's pissed, it's a thunderstorm. It's very different from what he usually has, probably
Kinn is attracted to Porsche pretty soon, but in the novel it is Porsche who falls in love first
Agree!! Feels like Kinn at least fell first but Porsche fell harder then. BUT, after a while, it feels more even? To me atleast. Feels like they will be equally obsessed with each other but Porsche is more willing to walk away to preserve his dignity and peace of mind while Kinn basically refuses to ever let go
I died at the part when Porsche's knees buckled in the pantry after he acted cool when Kinn shot the apple on top of his head as target practice.
It's cool that they're showing that Kinn is at least starting to be attracted to Porsche who's a flaming hot mess so he doesn't have a clue what's going on.
This episode seems quite bright and cheery compared to the dark backdrop of the series. So far, the show seems centered around Porsche's narrative. He is trying to make sense of this new world that he's in and how he fits in. He's so carefree and unrestrained in behaviour and emotions and it's just a jarring contrast lmao. He compared the mafia compound to a prison and then a battlefield when really they're operating like a kingdom. They literally have medical services, tailors and even their own ammunitions chamber
Porsche is basically a literal fish out of water so I like the fishes showing up in this episode. Porsche isn't taking any of this shit seriously it's only when Pete tells him in the end that Kinn saved his life that he realises that he almost got killed for disrespecting and hurting(unintentionally) Macau.
I think we may start getting more scenes from just Kinn in the next few episodes and it's going to be a shift in tone.
That was a bit too silly for me. I know Porsche is supposed to be a bad-boy, but getting drunk while working?…
don't think it's a comedy. I think this episode is the calm before the storm. They still need to show Porsche getting used to the house and the way things work.
Even though this episode was super light and fun, there were still moments of darkness here and there. Kinn almost got killed again. Porsche almost got killed because he hurt the son of the second family. I think it finally kicked in for him at the end that it's a high stakes game
People are free to express their opinions though? Whether they're negative or positive
I feel like constructive criticism is one thing. Complaining that this shouldn't be BL because BL should be full of rainbows and unicorns only or that the show sucks because it doesn't include scenes from the original Filmania trailer is another
I bought vip IQYI just for this show and I have ZERO regretsAlso, I kind of liked the background score lmao Was…
Wasn't sure about the differences they made between the novel and the show but I kind of liked it?
Liked that they included the whole subplot of Porsche and his uncle. Porsche is still very trusting and clearly knew how much of a gambler his uncle was. His final straw was when they might have to lose their house. Loved how the first episode showed so much of Porsche and he's such an open book as compared to the novel. He feels cheekier too
Kinn comes across as colder compared to the novel. And we understand alot less about him compared to Porsche.
I thought they did the contrast of their two worlds well. Porsche wants a simple life: just to provide his brother with a good life and then to eventually, open up a beach bar somewhere. Kinn is being trained to take over his father's business and is caught up in that mafia world. And now their worlds are colliding. Even Porsche's world seems so much more colorful (the club scenes) and innocent(the last dinner between uncle and nephews) whereas Kinn is always in a luxurious but cold environment.
He's always alone in the scene whereas Porsche is always with someone else in the scene except with that one time where Porsche meets Kinn. When he's in the car with his goons, he's sitting by himself in the back. When he's meeting his dad and the secretary playing chess, he's separated from them by a bar. When his men show up at the petrol kiosk to pick him up, they stand at a distance. Kinn's status, authority, and responsibilities separate him from everyone else in his life whereas Porsche is just bumbling around lmao
I like this because if they didn't meet - you literally can see separate worlds and separate dramas just revolving around them. Porsche would be that typical drama character- in school, fighting (literally) to raise his brother and send him to uni, irresponsible older relative, two super good BFFs who are always there with him. Kinn is the mafia heir being trained to take over the empire and is forced by his position and past to trust no one.
I liked the first episode and the pacing and legit cannot wait for next Saturday
Giwi has a soft spot for Dan but will demolish anyone who stands in her way of getting Pitch and her desired status in society
Tin loves Miriam so much that he's blinded to her faults. Even his partner is pointing out that he didn't know her as well as he thinks he did.
Tim seems to have more of a heart that I originally gave him credit for. I defn think he will like Eve for real.
Matt is a freaking disaster. Its a pity that he hasn't had scenes with Giwi because they match each others ruthlessness. Only, Giwi has to claw up in society while Matt already has a privileged status. I'm APPALLED that he's willing to seduce Eve's father's boyfriend in order to break Eve and Pitch up.
I understand now why Pitch loves Eve so much. She actually has a good and kind heart especially compared to these people lmao
Pitch actually cracks me up. Hes the desired prize that all of these people are willing to kill for and he's the only one NOT plotting besides Eve. Atleast Eve is vigilant against Tim. Pitch is freaking clueless to all the dangerous undercurrents. He doesn't see that everytime Giwi makes a pass at him, her desire to get him gets stronger. He doesn't realise the true extent of how devious Matt can be and naively thinks that Matt will be content with the scraps he gets. Pitch is defn not cut out to be a politican lmao
I LOVE how every episode leaves with me a different impression of the characters lmao
Matt came across as clingy and desperate. NOW we know that actually Matt cheated and Pitch blames him for their relationship ending. I felt like Pitch was kind of a douchebag and now , it's clear why he keeps trying to push Matt away.
I SEE it like this: Pitch wants to move forward with Eve. She seems to be like this innocent(PERFECT) ray of sunshine and is everything his mother wants for him. She also seems to bring out the best for him.
But emotionally, it seems that he still isn't over Matt, still seeks him out when he's particularly vulnerable(drunk, sad or feeling stressed and overwhelmed) MATT seems freaking manipulative. He knows all of Pitch's weaknesses and his biggest strength here is that Matt knows all of Pitch's flaws and is willing to accept how selfish, cowardly and insecure he is. How imperfect he is and this is why he keeps going back to Matt(besides sex LMAO). Because Matt is this safe harbour, where he can not put up a facade and appear perfect all the times. That's why Matt keeps stressing that he's the one protecting Pitch all the time, and that he understands him the most etc.
Giwi also showed a new side to her. She's getting turned down by Pitch, and is continously reminded that Eve is better than her. No wonder, she wants Chimon who clearly is her inferior and will worship her. I like that she has some softness around him
Tim and Eve are clearly going to fall for each other for real lmao. He brings out a fire in Eve and Eve hates his guts which is new for him LOL
I feel so bad for Mim. She was trying to do the best she could with the meagre background she has. It feels like she got caught up in this mess while just trying to survive and move forward
Who are the BL couple in here ? or it is only 1 person?
It's Matt and Pitch. Pitch is this politician dude who's the dude that everyone wants. When they were abroad, Matt and him used to be in a relationship that ended because Matt cheated as he was upset that Pitch wasn't treating him like a proper boyfriend and was hiding their relationship all the time. Then Pitch came back to Thailand and Matt chased him back there LMAO

I was surprised when so much of the trailer was in the first episode

Also, I kind of liked the background score lmao Was I the only one? I love how dark and forbidding the music theme is for Kinn
And Porsche's scene with his family has a softer piano piece to show how vulnerable and soft he is underneath that hard exterior.
Tbf, everytime Foei and Mek interact - Foei is either yelling or telling him off while Mek is trying to cuddle up lmao
Joss has insane chemistry with everyone. I bet he could romance a wall lol
I love how ruthless half of these people are lmao

Every new episode is a trip lol and it makes you see the characters differently
