I think the drama turned Cen Jun’s ex husband into your typical gaslighting cheater, whereas in the novel his reasons for divorcing her were much more complex. I really sympathized with his character in the novel, so I do not like how he was villainized in the adaptation. I don't know why writers think that a husband wanting a divorce can only be because of cheating rather than something else.
Even though i enjoyed most of it the flashback scenes mostly did nothing for me since we knew exactly how it ended…
Hey chingu, can you tell me on a scale of 1 to 10 how annoying Doctor Lu is? Also, does Cen Jin constantly reject him and not let him interfere in her life, or is she the opposite like most typical female leads?
I don’t think Situ Ling ever truly loved Ming Yi. In episode 19, after killing his brother, he did not immediately go to save her, even though he claimed to love her. Instead, he was more worried that she would discover his true identity as a prince from another state. How could her finding out his identity matter more than saving her life? If Ji Bozai had not arrived in time, she might have died. That is why I think what Situ Ling felt for her was obsession rather than genuine love.
I heard a lot of positive reviews and decided to watch, to be honest, I didn't see anything special in this drama,…
See, I have watched many xianxia dramas, and the only thing that felt different and genuinely good about this one was the dynamic, chemistry, and characterization of the characters. The chemistry was sizzling, with epic, lust filled frames that felt like they were deliberately made to seduce the audience. The flirty banter, the constant lies layered over more lies, and the mutual deception between the leads, especially on Ming Yi’s side, were actually more engaging than annoying for most of the parts. It created tension, intrigue, and excitement, and for once the dishonesty added to the relationship instead of ruining it.
The worst decision the makers made was adding the entire Marriage Stone arc in episode 13. What Ming Yi did afterward made her seem like the worst possible life partner, even though I had not really minded her lies before. They should have postponed that arc to episodes 18 to 20 and let Bozai discover that she was Ming Xian first. That way, everything would have made perfect sense, and we probably would not have started hating her at all. And why does this drama have so many plot holes? Could Hanfeng and the others not have used the same spell Bozai used in earlier episodes to check Ming Yi’s gender? Given how patriarchal the entire Jixing Abyss is, with no female warriors and women instead being called Fairies, they would not have suspected anything anyway. Even the logic behind the Marriage Stone did not make much sense. I do not understand how Ming Yi did not know that only true lovers can write their names on the stone, and that doing otherwise would lead to punishment, especially when she was planning to steal the Golden Millet Dream.
like seriously 🙄 another 14 yr age gap WTAF Can we not just cast 40 plus yr old women with 40 plus men. lime…
Where did your argument go when you rated Glory Kdrama 9.5? Song Hye Kyo also has 14 years of age gap with Lee Do Hyun but you probably liked it because the woman was older there. What a hypocrite!!
