That's why when he finally read the book and found out that this is just demon cultivation technique he tore it off and realised what xuelin was trying to do. I don't think he needs to master ghostly eulogy since he is already the lord of the dark aura. He can control other beings using his dark powers. Yh can do the same now.
As for HPS, well i think it is a very powerful tool which can harm fu yin so he tricked Ling Xiao to get rid of it.

Like I remember we all were saying YH was wrong when she said to TY that he has never died so he won't understand her pain. But today she accepted her mistake and said he died twice . She even acknowledged she was being mean at that time .
Loved badass YH in ep 32 but i also kind of felt bad she hurt other disciples of Chengxin mountain especially Zichen who almost died saving her. Her master deserved that attack but not the rest .
