I'll revise my comment then : such plot is not enough to justify a 12 episodes show, imo. but you're right, I came here for the historical drama, not the cookin show drama so it makes sense that I'm disappointed. however, I'm pretty open minded and if the story and the plot was good enough for me, I'd have enjoyed it more. the first few episodes were entertaining but it got boring.
Also what's the source of the publication date of the webtoon? I found nowhere that it was released prior to 2020.

I guess it also depends on what their definition of "tied up everything well" means 👀 What I consider a good ending could be their idea of a bad ending and vice versa. Depends also how much liberty the writers took and how well they'll use the remaining episodes to wrap thing up. We'll see, I put no hope into it honestly but hopefully it will satisfy you haha

It's bad enough that they tried to replicate a part of the plot of Mr. Queen to create one whole show (as if it's enough in the first place), the bare minimum would be to put work into actually making a good story out of it.... Finally decided to watch it after 5 years. I'm disappointed the emotional connexion between the king and Bong hwan was not adressed in the end, as if they didn't both fell in love with each other. But well, a popular k-drama like that, I didn't expect much lgbt inclusivity lol.
