Once again though you are missing the point. The world is not black and white. Yes, these girls should not have been exposed to the industry in this way. But throwing up your arms and saying "damage done!" and not voicing concern just because it could have (and should have) been dealt with differently is not the play. This role is wrong on another level compared to what Ai Mi has done in the past, and the criticism everyone voicing here is 100% valid, even if you think it should have been done earlier. You have to be able to recognize that her being paired with this ML is so much worse than her previous roles.

Literally not talking about HYTT right now but yes I'm VERY against the roles being given to her lately too. And yeah you're right these minors shouldn't be paired romantically ever with anyone that much older than them but, you have to be DENSE to think that a small role like the one in MJTY is anywhere near as damaging as Ai Mi being the female lead here. The world is not black and white. Some things are worse than others. If you were able to think critically you would understand that fact.

It was okay. The pacing felt off, but honestly the pacing on most dramas these days has been weird. I really hate how every drama is so short now so they have to rush through the major plot points. I liked it but definitely didn't love it. I feel like if it had another 10-15 episodes they could have fleshed things out and I would have rated it higher. 7/10

Shen Yue is my og girlie so while I'm happy that she was cast in this, I am a little bit apprehensive just because remakes are tricky and also KHY is so charismatic it might be hard to fill those shoes.

I'm sorry but it is an attention span issue. Dramas are being dumbed down for the sake of people not being able to sit down and watch anything longer. Why does it matter if it's a book or a tv show? Storytelling is storytelling. And stories are suffering because of how dumbed down everything has gotten. Watering a complex story down so that it can fit into 40 episodes is a bad thing. It's why so many kdramas suck because they're forced to fit into the 16 episode model. We're seeing that same exact issue now with cdramas. I'm not far in this specific drama so I couldn't tell you if it needs more or less episodes. But this is an issue that isn't specific to this one drama, it's a broader problem.

Hard disagree. No offense but I think you guys just don't have attention spans anymore lmao. Dramas used to all be 50+ episodes. Current historical dramas are all rushed because of the 40 ep cap. If dramas like Yanxi Palace, Ruyi's Royal Love, or the Story of Minglan had been cut down, all of the quality and nuance would have been lost.

We should all be way more pissed off at the dramas coming up with Ai Mi paired with Hou Minghao and the one with Huangyang Tiantian paired with Li Yunrui. Those are literal children being paired with grown nearly 30 year old men 🤢.

I just started this and while I am enjoying it I'm a bit disappointed in the tone. I thought this drama was going to be much darker and more serious. It's pretty lighthearted most of the time. It's not a bad drama at all, like I said I like it so far and I'm 19 episodes in. But from the trailer and the source material, I was expecting something very different.
