Omg these kids in the comments need to get out into the real world. Women are fully fleshed out humans just trying to get by and most often don't have the energy or desire to tear down other women. Once you've gone through enough shit you realize how pointless and actually damaging it is to not uplift each other. If you're older and still in those kinds of situations then you should really look into removing yourself from them because the majority of women I know aren't catty or toxic towards each other. It's childish and misogynistic to perpetuate this narrative that is absolutely not true. If you think it's true, you honestly might be the problem and should look within.

China has plenty of awards that go towards actual acting talent. This one show is not indicative of all Chinese platform awards. People love to talk about how much "better" Korean stuff is than Chinese when they literally have no idea what they're talking about.

I don't want to talk about that drama because as I said it was ruined by CYQ's acting. Just because Vivien Leigh and CYQ were both playing immature characters DOES NOT mean they acted the same. VL's acting was perfectly appropriate for the dramatic tone of GWTW, CYQ looked ridiculous in MOET, completely out of place. But whatever dude. You're clearly just an ultra simp for CYQ even though her acting was absolutely terrible, you'll just continue to defend it. So like, have fun I guess.

Haven't watched Xing Fei in a drama since My Little Happiness came out, she's surprisingly killing it. I've always enjoyed her acting in the past but she kind of always played the same character. I'm pleasantly surprised to see some dimension to her acting here so far.

Lmao girl she didn't act like a teenager, she acted like a moron. And the adult her was almost just as bad. The other actors acted immature but not in an over the top way. The whole drama was low-key. CYQ's acting was so out of place, she ruined every scene that she spoke in.

She ruined Memory of Encaustic Tile. She whined and pouted and acted like an idiot. It was entirely her acting that was at fault, not the script. "Professionals" lmao give me a fucking break. Tons of terrible actors are still praised by others in the industry, that doesn't mean anything.

I met one of my best friends when I was 19 and he was 27. Nothing romantic just friendship and we're still best friends to this day and I'm 27 and he's 35. No one thought this was weird back then but now people would say that our completely innocent friendship was somehow predatory. It's even worse for romantic relationships with way smaller age gaps. The infantilization of grown adults is so strange.

I liked the Dal Haejoon relationship change but that's the only improvement in this drama from the original. The writing was infinitely cheesier (fucking soap opera ass villain mother), the whole group didn't feel like a family (especially the lack of brotherly/sisterly connection between Haejoon and Joowon is a crime, they were so fucking cute in the original), but the biggest complaint I have is Jung Chaeyeon. Holy crap she is a bad actress. She is one note with absolutely no depth. She has three expressions, pouting, dead stare, and grinning ear to ear. That's it. Cheery cute female leads that are actually likeable and not annoying/cringey are one of the most difficult characters to portray imo and JCY was terrible. The boys (both the brothers and the dads) were pretty good at their roles (though BHS layed it on a little thick sometimes). Idk man it was alright. If you haven't seen the original then you'll probably really like this. Even for me it was a decent adaptation (considering korean adaptations usually suck). The problem is that it was the relationships between the main five characters that were the heart and focus of the original but here they focused way too much on the dramatic storylines with the mothers.

When I was in my teens and early 20s I never thought people in their mid twenties-early thirties were old and neither did anyone I knew. There's been a cultural shift with tiktok and micro-trends that have been separating people further into these categories.

honestly gen z is so warped with their thinking in regards to aging. They think once you hit 25 you're ancient. I remember when bridgerton came out and everyone was saying how good daphne's actress looked for being 25, like come on now. I'm an old gen z and this shit is so silly to me.

It's okay so far but I have a couple of gripes. Sanha's mom is like a webtoon villain, it's so cringe. The mom in the original was horrible but the actor and the writing was so much more realistic. Also JCY's pouting is really overkill. She's not so young that she should be pouting to show her emotions in every other scene she's in.

The drama is fine ( though sorry to the people who hate comparisons, but the original is way better) and I'll watch until the end. A decent remake so far, at least for korean remake standards.
