Join date: May 24, 2020. Your're obviously a regular user using a throwaway account just to make comments specifically for me for this particular comment. The intention is obvious and chances are likely that you care about this actor. I only commented how the actor didn't fit the role. I don't see why this is necessary.

And if I was wrong to assume about you being a fan, you have assumed first about me being a hater of this actor and with that I assume making assumptions about you is also ok. Seeing that you were offended about it, please reflect on yourself and stop making assumptions about other people.

WTF. Am I not allowed to comment about actors?

Quote one part where I even hate the actor. Did I say anything against his skills, face, or personal life? NO. If I did hate the actor, you bet I would put that in the comment like I always have.

What I'm criticizing was the casting. He did not fit the role. The characters in this drama would say something like "Jiang Xiaoyou is a mean looking person" or "He looks like a bad person in the outside but he is good" Like where? Where is the mean looking person? This drama is important to me and I had to nitpick about the casting because remakes nowadays don't care about who they cast. They just want the next popular flower boy to play the role because it's the trend.

You said you went here to look for an honest comment about the story. That's hypocrisy. The fact that you did not ignore this long ass comment means you obviously came here expecting praises for your favorite actor. And you saw my blasphemous comment. Well, sorry, but I'm giving you THE honest comment. B**** you can't stop me.

You also make it sound like I don't care about the story or that I'm criticizing the drama itself when I'm actually encouraging everyone to watch it for the story. I can't explain why without spoiling anything but it's good. I don't like the casting but the story is definitely a must watch. The casting definitely ruined how I pictured the characters. Jiang Xiayou being menace-looking and Jiang Feng the handsome looking guy who made the most powerful women go crazy doesn't show in my screen. Of course I'm going to comment about it. Why are you stopping me? Where's my free speech?

I can see the synopsis happening now. I can already imagine the son trying to pimp his mom for a rich dad. It's interesting because all the members of the new family to be, the dog including, actually have a beef against the evil mom and son pair. I really hope the kids give them a hard time and not be the ones taking the abuse. By "a hilarious family expansion project ensues" as the synopsis says, I'm expecting at least that.

So, I went back to watching the drama. On 28. Does she find out the real truth and not the twisted bs that she…
I'm not sure what you're talking about but yes, she already knows. Strangely he's trying to spill out the truth to everyone.

I got really frustrated because I thought it was the last episode. I was about to fly to korea and storm MBC with a molotov, wearing a balaclava, and butt naked. I was gonna look for Hwa Ran's actress and have a talk with her. Why the **** are you still alive?

That also explains why the upcoming drama still doesn't have a trailer.

A lot of minus points for the rape. I guess there's human trafficking and violence. But I don't want rape in my wuxia drama.

@StellarFlowerIt's been revealed that Hye-won had an abortion (unless she was off somewhere and had the baby).…
Oh right I forgot that part... But I wonder If you can also damage your uterus by pressing your belly really hard.

So far I enjoyed watching this part about the mom working so hard for her kids. However, I am not excited about two men fighting over a company. It's becoming too cliche for me. Can't they at least for once switch genders. It's not unheard for companies to have female CEOs or rich families to only have daughters to succeed a company.

Dramas about chaebols used to have these fancy events with people in beautiful dresses and tuxedos sipping wine and throwing snide remarks at each other. But now along with the trivial looking houses, it doesn't feel like these people really own billions of wons of assets. I expect that when the kid's mom marry a rich husband, they'd wow over something because they realize how rich they're new dad is.

Title Fatal Promise Spoiler
Gonna make a wild prediction but what are the chances that the kid in Eun Dong's house is actually Tae In and…
I honestly don't remember where the kid come from. Heck, I don't even know what her relationship is with the couples living in her house. I only remember that the kid was already waiting for her from the prison. It can't be student Eun Dong who adopted him. It was probably his dad. Which means the kid was already there before all the incidents. It can't possibly be Hye Won's son because that's physically impossible. She would have to hide her belly for everyone to not know that she had a child. I mean I guess they tried that in the drama Here comes Jang Bori but Lee Yoori's character was not a busy doctor like Hye Won.

My drama instincts does feel like the kid is related to one of the characters. If indeed he is one of the character's son, by process of elimination his parents would likely be.... Choi Jun Hyuk's father and Oh Hye Won's mother. *Cue plot twist music. lol

But then again, Kdramas always surprise me. So the chances that the kid is Hye Won's son is still pretty high. The protagonist female raising the antagonist female's child is a recurring theme in Kdrama. The classic example for that is Come Jang Bori. If Oh Hye Won did hid her belly while working as a doctor, that's pretty crazy.

That end of ep 32 - call me crazy but I ship Tae In & Eun Dong...
Schoolgirl Eun Dong definitely thinks that ajussi was hot. I also ship them but when Tae In's father said something about not understanding your feelings being the scariest thing in the world was sort of foreboding. He's going to get married before he sort out his feelings and realize how regretful that is. It's a mess.

I dont get it. If she is divorced how is she having an affair? Unless she marries the "rich man" mentioned in…
Let me spoil it for you. Her husband went very very far away.... to outer space. He's an astronaut.

Anyways, the title sure is confusing. Even the korean title could mostly be interpreted as her being a cheating mom. But it could also just mean that she is having a scandalous relationship. Probably because she is dating a chaebol. By "scandalous" in korean standard, it means a relationship that is newsworthy or not normal. She's a nobody dating a chaebol. For them that's not normal.

Can they please also remake Kamen Rider Black? That was my childhood. When I think of Kamen Rider / Masked Rider I think of the cool rider in a black metal suit and insect eyes with smokes coming out of his body after a transformation.

They're married and living together at the chairman's house. That already happened since several episodes ago.

I'm at episode 23, I can definitely say this is definitely a must watch. The biggest point is the story. It's a classic novel being unarguably classic. I also know the ending will be good because season 2 of this series was my childhood. Both of them fought together in the first episode and their sons became the main characters.

Such a classic novel deserves a classic casting. I want the casting to be memorable. This was not it. They should have auditioned many people for this role instead of casting experienced actors. I bet they casted the actor for Jiang Xiao Yu because he was funny in a previous role. They should have not automatically excluded inexperienced actors and narrowed their selection to an already existing pool of candidates. I mean there's like billions of people in China, I'm sure they can find the right person who fits the role and have the talent to play as an actor.

I'm sure this actor is funny but Jiang Xiao Yu is not a funny kid. He's a prankster. He laughs for himself in the expense of others. He puts up a kind face but nobody trusts him. That's why most people thinks he's evil. Actually this actor reminds me of Jacky Chan, the type who is funny and kind-looking. I would probably find it more convincing if they choose an actor who usually play an evil role. Make him act as usual in his roles and then make him laugh half of the time. Jiang Xiao Yu is an annoying character but he is of course a good person and he's the only person who knows that. I'm not sure if you can imagine what I'm trying to say. But if you can picture what I'm describing, you can agree that this actor does not fit the role.

First, he is not obnoxious, Jiang Xiao Yu is an obnoxious character. His high-pitch talking makes you want to shut his mouth. Second, he does not have the evil smirk. The smirk also needs to be particularly not fully evil. Perhaps a smirk without the evil stare. Third and most importantly, he does not have thick eyebrows. Suspicious looking people have thick eyebrows. I'm thinking someone who probably looks like Eddie Peng but with an obnoxious personality would fit this role.

I honestly want a different actress since I just finished watching want a taste a few days ago. Welp, another 120 episodes of Shim Yi Young I guess. Hopefully, it's a different character with a serious personality. But knowing MBC, it's probably going to be another dumb female lead archetype. I bet she'd be working in a clothing company where the drama's sponsor's brand is displayed in the office. Usually their sponsor is Lynx. But Lynx is already sponsoring My Mom Has an Affair. Fantom is also sponsoring Fatal Promise. Funny thing is the names of the companies in these dramas are LX group and Fx group. lol. So probably it's not a clothing company. I'm curious what kind of chaebol she will be? My next guess would have been a food-related company but Want a Taste was food-related. I doubt Shim Yi Young will take another food-related drama. Probably Cosmetics/Beauty-related? Most likely since the drama seems to be about a woman's huge transformation.

On ep 1..so who is main male lead? As in ED's love interest?
Male lead is Tae In. There is no romance but there is what I sense a sexual tension between the two. Their gaze at each other is much longer and deeper than at other characters. But that could also possibly be just guilt and hatred. Both of their acting does seem to imply that they have deep emotional connection. We just don't know what that is. The sexual tension could just be because they're both hot af which is sort of leading me to these assumptions.

The first episodes show a very melodramatic atmosphere. Despite her look giving off that strong woman vibe and being a PE teacher, she's kinda weak. But she has the biggest heart for taking care of her stepson and not abandoning him. People can easily relate to these struggles.

I'm just worried that this might end up to be another drama of two boys fighting over a company. I'm honestly starting to get tired of that theme. That has a good chance of ruining the melodramatic atmosphere that's already established. I'm also curious what sort of chemistry these two leads will show.

Her lecturing her colleague about having an affair with a married guy is kind of foreboding since guessing from the title, she herself is going to cheat on her husband. I'm not sure but I saw the trailer once and it looks like her husband is going to get into an accident and probably get comatosed.

Before someone disagrees about my point about Tae In being wrong for saving his father, I'll make another point. While I agree that his father's life is of top importance, the situation they had was not simple. Imagine for example if Tae In went to Eundong and asked her if he could give the papers to Jun Hyuk to save his father's life, Eundong would have the right to refuse. She could say "My father died saving your father's ass, you owe me the favor to at least not help the people who wronged my father". But Tae In denied her that choice. This is why I absolute think he's wrong. The moral choice was to continue on looking for another way to save his father. While one might argue that his emotions might have clouded his judgement or that he lacked the intelligence to know what is right which I doubt so, it does not change the fact that he was wrong.

So apparently, Tae In and Jun Hyuk's deal was caught by multiple hidden cameras. Two of which already zoomed in to their faces. I imagine someone who setups something like this is a maniac, the kind which throws people off the rooftop. I feel this is more like intentional than a case of sloppy directing. Probably some sort of brainwashing where you get fed with small bits of ridiculousness until you're conditioned enough to believe everything for the sake of melodrama like for example, people falling off a rooftop and then miraculously survives it.

Cha Eundong is definitely right to hate Tae In. This is why I like the message from Vinland Saga. Love is nothing but a glorified form of discrimination. The only real true love is death when your corpses selflessly help the world by giving nourishment to the soil. Some people might think that saving his father was a good excuse to betray Cha Eun dong and his father. No it's not. It's what you call discrimination. Everyone is guilty of this because the concept of family is so deeply engraved in society.

This drama is another case of revenge drama which centers on a man's betrayal. But this role is usually given to the second lead male. Since in this case, the lead male is the traitor, he is given some leeway for him to redeem himself. I guess you could say he could redeem himself by completely destroying Oh Hyewon and Choi Jun Hyuk like what he's planned to do. This way he both saves his father and fulfills his promise. I don't agree. The only true chance he had was the first time and he squandered that chance. And now he's involved himself in this huge gamble where failure means he's officially betrayed Chae Eundong for good. What I'm looking forward for is for Cha Eundong to turn everything into a one woman show ala Empress Ki where she basically just stacks up her kill count in the entire duration of the drama. That would make this drama really epic. I want to see the "fatal" part of this "fatal promise" and make Tae In realize the cost of breaking one's promises. Hopefully Jihoon stays stupid and useless like he is now. I definitely don't want him stealing the show.
