I find this main couple interesting because I've only watched them once before and they were bad people in those dramas. I did try to watch other Park Hana's dramas but I eventually dropped those. So this is like my second Park Hana drama which I have intention of finishing. Interestingly, both dramas have "Promise" or "약속" in the title. I feel like that's not a coincidence.

As for the male lead, I watched him in "Three Brothers" which was my favorite drama and released like a decade ago. He has a very short screentime playing the role of the female lead's fiance who cheated on her but I find him memorable because his acting is really really good. That's evident by the fact that I could still remember him even for that role. So my first impression when I see him in this cast is that in this drama, we're going to see very very intense scenes and intense performance coming from both leads if we just consider both of their acting styles. I am so excited with this.

Every time the older sister opens her mouth, I just wish someone punches a stapler on her mouth. It's impressive how she's so consistently obnoxious the entire 120 episodes.

I can't count how many dramas I've watched where the female lead rides a scooter and wears a pink helmet in the first episode. The oldest drama being "You are my destiny(2007)" starred by Girl's Generation Yoona which was like 170 episodes. I wonder if scooters and pink helmets are something you commonly see in Korean streets or is this just a typical korean drama trope?

Hmm, I feel like I don't have that much to comment about this week's episodes except for two things:
1. Watching Haeun sit on a chair crying in a dark room. I'm like someone please do something. Depression in kids can really make lasting wounds. That's just speaking from someone who's been there.
2. Jaehyuk calling Hwaran omoni. Ms Song making friends with Mr Park. What a cruel world.

Just a wild theory: What if Minhyuk and Yeonsu were switched from birth and Yeonsu and Jaehyuk are biological siblings. I'd be happy to think that Haeun is Chairman Han's real grand daughter.

The teaser says premiers April 6.... NO!! This drama needs to air f****Ng right now!
I skipped Gracious Revenge because I didn't like the cast. But I'm so hyped with this.

I guess revenge drama in this timeslot is now a regular thing judging from the past two dramas, Gracious Revenge and A Place in the Sun. There's no way I would hate that. Revenge dramas is like the best thing that happened in Korea. Ever since I watched Green Rose from decades ago I loved korean revenge dramas. I love how these main characters know how to turn the tables.

I am having doubts about watching this timeslot. The previous dramas are also not that good despite the ratings. I also badly need them to put historical dramas in this timeslot. Something like Queen Seon Deok, Empress Ki, Jumung, etc. All that budget is wasted on this boring light dramas. I need revenge dramas, dramas with ridiculous makjang plot(something like birth secret being passed down to generations. Son, father, grandfather, great grandfather all in one drama but know nothing about each other), What about sci-fi? Something like Man from the stars and I am not a robot in one drama. The protagonists don't know about the other being robot or alien. Turns out they're enemies. The robot was created to eliminate extraterrestrials and the alien was sent from the future to save humanity from robot invasion. Can't they put something exciting in this timeslot?

Too much violence. I don't care if it has good story. Excessive violence is no for me.

Her office mate had forgotten about that one time Sowon took the fall for her. Classic example of why doing good deeds is pointless. You'd expect people will at least take example from you. But then again, nowadays, people will normally equate callousness for intelligence.

The poster looks like it's the kind of drama I would watch but what is up with this minimalist info?

I added this to my list because of the title because it reminded me of Laplace Demon. But I removed it because it got negative reviews. That was when I did not know about Hirose Suzu. Now I'm wondering if I should watch this.

ep 86 made me upset and wanted to srop this drama i had so much ecpectation from this, i thought it's a comedy…
I totally agree with you. I'm not sure if it's something that actually represents korean families or if it's just something you see in korean dramas. Apparently, giving birth to a son is like hitting a jackpot. Even women share this view. I mean, are they not daughters themselves? Are they happy that their brothers are more valuable than them?

I honestly don't like the actors for the mom and dad. They're super boring to watch. I can already imagine what their facial expressions will be. Both of these actors have the same acting style and they always use the same expressions no matter what the character is. I wish it was someone like Ahn Naesang and Kim Haesuk. Also story-wise, this time slot has been disappointing for me lately despite its ratings.

Now it's Yeonsu's turn to try to kill people with a car. I know this drama is about hitting people with cars, but I did not expect that each villain will have a hand on it lol.

When Hwaran asked about Yeonsu's parents, I felt like there's definitely something's up with Yeonsu's origins. I hope Yeonsu and Minhyuk are siblings. They deserve it. Although I feel bad for their unborn child.

How much more dumber can SoWon be? Again, she has to play the pathetic victim role instead of protecting the person…
I also don't know why they keep having this kind of main female lead. It's like the weak teenage boy trope you see in most Japanese animes. This is probably like the 4th consecutive drama I watched in MBC where the female lead is super dumb. So I'm already used to it. Although in the previous dramas, they were revealed to have wealthy parents. I won't be surprised if Sowon is actually an orphan who happens to have wealthy parents lol. There's also this one thing about them that really annoys me. They keep telling their enemies about their plans. "Oh hey I just barged into your office. You know why? I just found out about your secret. Now I'm about to hand over this envelope to the police. Try to stop me".

It's picking up its pace. I think in few more episodes Jaehyuk will soon know about his wife and the Choi family.…
Certainly not few more episodes. That was too soon than I expected.

It's also so ironic how they can't accept Sowon because she has a kid while the real mother is happily living with them. It's so hilarious.

This is good writing for me but very very low budget. Except also the part where I can't understand why JaeHyuk and the Choi family did not find each other at the columbarium sooner. They could have just waited for each other during Eunhye's death anniversary. It's such a huge plothole for me.

It's picking up its pace. I think in few more episodes Jaehyuk will soon know about his wife and the Choi family. Exciting things are going to happen soon for sure. Hwaran trying to run over people is a sign the writer is getting fired up. I bet it's no coincidence. I was already expecting that she would try to murder people with cars in the beginning and then she would end up getting a taste of her own medicine in the finale.

It's definitely a pattern I see in MBC dramas. In Blessing of the sea, the villain tries to kill the main character by throwing her off a cliff and then in the end he died by falling off a building. In the previous drama, Everybody says Kungdari, the villain killed a person with mental illness. In the end, she became crazy and died from illness. In Golden Garden, the villain accidentally killed the male lead's family through a car accident. In the end, she accidentally run over her daughter. See the pattern? To me, it's obvious what Hwaran's fate is. I'm just curious how the writer will write it. That's the exciting part for me.
