such an underrated gem, It's not the best at anything but its near the top at everything, just one thing felt forced is the need to give the FL something else near the end, that felt out of character and the timing was bad.
The sue lawsuit was unreasonable at best and plain absurd at worst, I get the need of the FL helping the ML through her line of work but since the writers made the ML a neurosurgeon it was too heavy to make him suffer from malpractice or losing a patient's life, but nothing made sense neither plot nor story wise
Such a good feels good show. My guess the low rating because the FL had to become an assistant after being a doctor, what I really loved is how he treated her, equally as a human being, she was the one who wanted to be treated as an assistant.
I lost all interest after episode 20 doesn't matter if you live in a communist run country, democratic country, absolute monarchy, or even military dictatorship, all asian dramas agrees that a non-consensual kiss can solve all problems and get you a partner.
Atleast they showed his trauma and maintained the drama well. This Drama was from Small Ip unlike other dramas.…
its a beautiful drama, but I found it annoying that 95% of the plot was reserved only for the FL's Healing when they introduced the ML as someone who's suffering from major traumas and his whole life revolves around work.
Actually they showed his trauma along with FL journey. Meanwhile FL still healing but ML is done with those trauma…
all drama long he didn't show a glimpse of someone having dealt with a first love "betrayal", the FL had the same exact situation as his first love and he never wavered or showed anything, its like nothing happened to him in the past. like I said the setting of his character shows that he didn't get over those traumas, his 6 days work per week, volunteer work, no friends or close people except his grandpa, no present parent nothing, you don't get over traumas by "spreading positivity" or overworking yourself, someone have to help you getting over it. and I don't need to talk about his mother's case, changed his whole life and made him who he is, only needed a half episode of new chinese year in hometown and a half episode of FL setting up a dinner, suddenly he's cured from his 20 years long trauma
2023 and directors still use the abnoxious sudden camera zoom inside offices. I'm astonished, I thought this lame technique to create fake suspense was done for like 1 decade ago
this drama is very very loopsided, the ML had much much worse traumas, loss of a mother while the father was negligent, while the FL had a breakup its just a fresh deep wound, but his trauma is like he's been in an emotional coma for 5-6 years after his breakup, , no close friends, nothing going on in his life except work all of this and he had to deal with her ex coming back, its absurd, they barely talked about his traumas, the drama gave him like 2 half episodes for his mother trauma to be concluded, and didn't feel like he had a love trauma at all. MEN'S MENTAL HEALTH IS A JOKE IN CDRAMA. this drama's score is very overrated considering it had this big flaw.

this drama gets compared to hometown cha cha cha, but it makes it look like a kids/teenager drama, and I've rewatched it like 2-3 times and was in love with it until I came across meet yourself, its just on another level
the word masterpiece gets thrown a lot but this drama absolutely deserves every single letter in that word. The most beautifully crafted drama i've ever seen, some scene compositions are absolutely stunning, add to that the complex and humane stories that this drama have and you'll have a literal masterpiece. You can feel that every single character is a real person, who you can imagine what they're doing off screen, not a plot device ALSO, one underrated thing is the OST, besides the songs, I absolutely loved the osts that have animal sounds remixed, especially the frog one.
please give me a recommendation for a realistic Chinese drama like this
check Hidden love and The best thing (just finished airing few days ago), both are soothing, beautifully crafted, and visually breathtakingly beautiful with characters who act like real human beings rational and multi layered, not plot devices to drive the plot forward.
well she feels guilty because of what happened to her friend and that's totally understandable
totally agree with every single word you said, I'm not saying she's right its just I kinda understand how she made those mistakes, most if not all athletes don't have the opportunity to develop the broader life skills necessary to navigate challenges outside of their athletic career, she's not mature enough for her age especially when she chose to runaway to work in a restaurant thinking that she can get over her problems, she just made the problem much bigger than it really was by running away those few years. and you have the SML who's in my opinion is poorly written athlete who acts like a 15yo bully while he ditched away all of his professional life as if he never had it
well she feels guilty because of what happened to her friend and that's totally understandable
athletes are different, they spend most of their lives doing one thing and living, eating, sleeping, thinking for one thing only, their sport, to have that one thing taken away from you because of guilt is huge and detrimental for a person's personality.
in which ep main lead starts dating? any break up? if any then in which ep they get back together? and any annoying…
they got together in ep4 but technically it was episode 5, they broke up in ep13 but it was obvious that its a healing process rather than a breakup I absolutely despise sudden breakups and can make or break a drama for me but I understood it this time, they got together after 1 episode. and thankfully no love triangle or whatsoever or even anything that comes close to it (I'm talking about the main leads ofc)
many cdramas have this weird thing that since the guy have to pursue the girl, he must be the one who have to figure out everything, solve everything and be the most understanding soul on planet, doesn't matter if his whole family died, he have a terminal illness and is fighting on the eastern front in ww2 for 3 years, he should be the one to carry and build things out.
My guess the low rating because the FL had to become an assistant after being a doctor, what I really loved is how he treated her, equally as a human being, she was the one who wanted to be treated as an assistant.
