All I see here is bad take after bad take after bad take
Classic MDL. Too many children with no media literacy calling everything "draggy" and freaking out if there is angst or anything remotely stressful, putting it on hold for their "mental health".
I liked the FL and her acting early on but now I’m not feeling it. She has little to no romantic chemistry with the ML and there is nothing in the performances or characterization in recent episodes to suggest FL and SML have been close friends for many years. Of course, it’s hard to sell that when they’ve had barely any scenes together. I doubt the final week can salvage the drama for me.
it's probably more melodrama, than a romcom - I hope
Definitely melodrama, like all Ahn Pan-seok's dramas. Someone added "comedy" under genre (used to just say romance and melodrama), but people shouldn't expect a romcom.
No global OTT has been confirmed. I would guess maybe Viki.
Yeah, but this was meant to be a Monday-Tuesday drama. It only got moved to weekend very recently because Resident Playbook was postponed. So the OTT was probably decided while it was still slated for the Mon-Tue slot.
Not knetz trying to come for KSH for his high appearance fee, only for it to turn out that he actually significantly reduced his fee for this drama compared to his previous work to help keep costs down. 🤣
does anyone feel like things are progressing too slowly? the pacing feels really slow even with the 12 episode…
I think the problem is mainly that there's just not much plot in the drama? Like the entire story is basically just the fake marriage and Do-han's secret. They've hardly developed the families and there are few side plots. So because the story is so "small", it feels like it's taking a long time to just get anywhere. I don't know why they decided to wait so long for Ji-han to learn the truth; I think the drama could've been better if they had sorted out that between the three of them earlier on, like episode 6/7, so they would've had more time to focus on how to deal with the family. Now it just feels inevitable that the last episodes will be rushed.
I don't know, it just feels like the writers messed up. Having Ah-jung and Ji-han confess and have these moments *before* Ji-han knows that the marriage is fake just leaves a poor taste in my mouth. So you're hooking up with your brother's fiancée? You're okay with her (seemingly) cheating on him? It would've worked a lot better if they revealed the contract marriage before all this. Because now it's like, well am I supposed to root for anyone in this drama? Do-han maybe, despite his self-pity and somewhat selfish actions borne out of fear of not being accepted. But it's messy writing that has left me unsatisfied.
I found Do-han's five minutes of screentime in ep 9 more interesting than anything with the main couple, as their scenes didn't feel earned. Which is really not where you want to be with just 3 episodes left.
I'm impressed by the use of music in this drama. I don't mean the OSTs (though they are also fantastic), but the instrumentals they use and how they fit what's happening. Like the fantasy when Hae-in shoots Hyun-woo and it sounds like a riff on James Bond . Or when Hyun-woo's family in the village are having a standoff with another family and they're playing cowboy music, like there's gonna be a duel 🤣
everyone saying he's happy that she's dying. like bruh.. he loves her he cares for her unconsciously but he's…
Anyone saying he's happy she's dying must be watching with their eyes closed. The drama is very clear about how he really feels. Which is used for comedic effect to great success, as Hyun-woo tries to convince himself his heart is racing for other reasons than his feelings for Hae-in.
It think it will be higher than this coz Real Rating is quite high
Based on the real-time rating for yesterday's episode and what it ended up with from Nielsen, ep 6 could hit 15%, I think. Probably not much higher. We'll see.
I swear some people just want sweet romance between the leads for 90 minutes every episode with no conflict whatsoever and no screen time for any side characters.
