I've only seen one or two hate comments here recently - most people definitely seem to think it was stupid to re-edit the show, and most people who aren't crazy knetz don't think it's fair that someone's life and career is ruined because they've had problems with drugs.

Yeah, the whole point of the drama is that the trauma of losing an unborn child (and the Hong family's treatment of Hyunwoo) made them drift apart and lack of communication led them to tiptoe around each other and misunderstand each other. It's a very realistic thing to happen in a marriage, and the storytelling is great. It's fine to not like a certain type of story on a personal level, but then the drama simply isn't for them.
It’s the same writer. Which is better depends on personal preference, as the plot is very different. I don’t know what answer you’re looking for since which drama someone prefers is subjective.

Monday-Tuesday dramas usually don't get very high ratings. It was the same with Twinkling Watermelon which was also super beloved online, but still mostly got 3-4% in tv ratings.
