New description from Disney: "An ambitious cop gone rogue. A hardened gangster seeking redemption." So it seems Junmo will be the bad guy and Gicheol the one seeking redemption? This makes me wonder who Euijung will end up with. Maybe she will leave her ambitious gone-rogue husband for Gicheol...

Not two parts, two seasons. They were just shot back to back. The Glory was one 16-episode season released as two parts (it now shows as just one 16-episode season on Netflix), while GC was ordered as two seasons of 10 episodes each.

I think more than 16-episode shows actually dragging, a lot of people are just struggling with their attention span due to the world we live in. No matter how perfectly paced a drama is, some will always complain that it's "dragging", when the problem is them and not the show's writing. People watching stuff at 1.5x speed while on their phone, at that point why bother at all.

Why was this adjusted from 7 episodes to 8? What's the source?

Netflix and Disney+ originals have always mainly done fewer episodes for Korean content. Sometimes as little as 6 episodes, but usally 8 or 12. Of course there are exceptions like Moving (20) and The Glory (16, though released in two parts). But generally, that's how it is. With upcoming shows later this year too, like Vigilante (8), Gyeongseong Creature (10) etc.

Thank god he’s going back to romcoms. Loved him in Welcome/Meow, the Secret Boy and Angel’s Last Mission: Love. But Numbers was not good.

What happened to his enlistment? It was reported last fall he'd enlist first half of 2023, but he hasn't?

I think it was always 반짝이는 워터멜론 in the native Korean. But the English title was first translated as 'Sparkling Watermelon', then recently changed to 'Twinkling Watermelon'. The latter sounds less natural in English so it was a bit of a weird change, but oh well!

Filming seems to have concluded for both seasons now after about two years in total. I really hope this will be the well-written, well-directed blockbuster historical action drama that everyone's expecting. Season 1 in December this year and then probably Season 2 in first half of 2024! 🥳

Either it's a mistake, or the final 6 episodes will be released later, or the show was re-edited into a 10-episode format for Netflix. I'm leaning towards it being a mistake, but who knows.

Not generally, but in Korea I guess it works because such rumors (dating/marriage) are for some absurd reason seen as "scandalous", so people are always "embroiled" in them.

I ended up liking this drama quite a lot. But I didn't really feel any romantic chemistry between Hong Jo and Sol Ah. I honestly enjoyed the chemistry Hong Jo had with Jae Seon more. Lovely, supportive bromance. He also seemed to understand Hong Jo much more than Sol Ah ever did.

Why did I think this was a comedy. The magic cookie and the high school setting, maybe.

It's a high-scale production with many filming locations, including in Europe. They're filming in Korea again now, and probably want enough time in post-production, too. Worth the wait.

This drama is gonna cause a superhero drama boom in Korea.
