This will supposedly be a weekend drama on tvN, releasing in the second half of 2024. OTT not decided, but I wouldn't be surprised if Netflix tried to get this for some WHJ synergy with Squid Game 2. They've distributed a lot of tvN's weekend dramas lately, and already have Queen of Tears for early 2024.
I don't think this man has slept since Squid Game. Last year he had Bad & Crazy and Little Women, this year he has The Worst of Evil and Gyeongseong Creature, then Graduation and Squid Game 2 in 2024.
It's was only one sided love from jung gi cheol toward Euijung ?? I don't think so Eui Jung also loved gicheol..
Hm, I don't think people generally get matching necklaces with people they don't feel something for. They also agreed to go on a movie date and she looked flustered and shy when he held her hand when they were having their picture taken. But we will probably learn more about their past in the episodes to come.
Misinformation alert, it's a Romance MELODRAMA (check PD's previous work) , not a stupid romcom, has no comedy.
This is true. Wi Ha-joon said in an interview with CNN Philippines a couple of months ago that he wanted his next project to be "melo"; I think he already knew he was doing this.
This has already started production, by the way. Jung Ryeo-won has been pictured with the script and has been seen filming. Wi Ha-joon has been busy promoting The Worst of Evil for Disney+ so I don't know if he's been on set just yet, but now that promotions are over, they're both ready to go.
I am assuming based on the blurb (it’s not been written well) that they both are teachers and they both met…
Yeah, it's weirdly written, but it seems clear the drama will mostly take place at the academy where they are both teachers. Which makes sense since the leads are in their 30s and 40s. 😆
Everyone here seems to be sure that the marriage is 100% safe, but why is that? We know that Junmo will go to a very dark place as "an ambitious cop gone rogue". We know that Gicheul is a character "seeking redemption" (a loaded word in terms of the religious symbolism in the drama). We also know that Euijung and Gicheul were each other's first love, that she kept the necklace, and that he's still wearing his. We know that he's still very much in love with her. And we know that Lim Se-mi said she didn't see her "husband" that much on set and that she "filmed more scenes with Wi Ha-joon."
I think it's too soon to say where any of these characters are going, because we just don't know. But I do think it seems too easy and "boring" for Euijung to just use Gicheul's feelings to trick him. It would be a lot more interesting if Junmo got tempted by the "dark side" and Euijung was drawn to Gicheul. This shot showing Gicheul in the light and Junmo in the dark is interesting; could it be foreshadowing? https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F7WUVzaW8AEVJEK?format=jpg&name=900x900
Very good third episode. Everything is set up and the character dynamics can keep developing. I think there was a little bit of overacting in the more comedic scenes (probably what the director wanted) and the slow motion stuff still doesn't work for me. But I am enjoying this so much!
To be fair, Gicheul has been suspicuous of Junmo from the start. That's why he did a thorough background check…
"Seeing how he duped the Busan thugs at the rock club and ran background checks right after meeting Inspector Yu, Jung Gicheul seems to be smarter and more meticulous than I thought." But sure, you know better!
The "attack" was the police, not the Busan group, so I fail to see its relevance to Gicheul's handling of Donghyuk. His plan to have Kanemoto take care of him if he caused trouble in Japan was executed effortlessly before he even got back to Korea.
I like it but I also think there have been stupid things going onThe fact that they never even came up with a…
To be fair, Gicheul has been suspicuous of Junmo from the start. That's why he did a thorough background check that almost caught them out; his diligence even impressed the police. And it's also why at the end of episode 3, he forced Junmo to shoot a guy to test his loyalty to him.
I also don't get what you mean by Gicheul "going on like everything was normal" after telling Donghyuk he wouldn't send him money anymore. He had Kanemoto take care of it and kill him?
It's so silly. Why go through the trouble of adapting a beloved webtoon with a high-profile lead cast, only to make sure nobody is actually going to watch it as it airs, because of the dumb airing schedule. 🤡
Why the drama not appearing among the MDL top 5 airing shows..Shouldnt it be there?
It should, it has twice the watchers and a higher rating than, say, My Lovely Boxer. But MDL is buggy and flawed and sometimes it takes forever for new shows to show up there.
EDIT: It has now (finally) replaced My Lovely Boxer at #5. Should climb further soon.
