This seems to confirm it's more of a melodrama than a romcom, as many of us predicted based on the synopsis and the trailers. That makes me very happy - romcoms have disappointed me lately.
Who knows, it's still unknown whether there will be any gay elements or not, but they're marketing it as such.…
Any queerness on terrestrial tv in Korea will have to be subtle, so at most it will be like Choo Young Woo in Tale of Lady Ok or Kim Do Wan in Wedding Impossible.
So instead of doing that half-heartedly, I think it would be much more successful to go all in on the bromance and have Bi-O be jealous not on any sort of sexual level, but rather because he doesn't want some girl to steal his piano prodigy bestie slash rival.
This is a tvN weekend drama; anyone expecting anything queer beyond subtext is just setting themselves up for inevitable disappointment. I'm hoping we get excellent bromance/rivalry, and it looks like we will.
I was waiting for so long for a pure romantic drama with him and all i get is THIS pairing? The girl simply cant…
Heartbeat was a terrible drama from which nobody escaped unscathed. She was excellent in both Squid Game and Tempest, so the problem clearly was not her acting abilities.
I was just thinking yesterday that I need casting news for Kangjoon, and here it is!
[Exclusive] Seo Kang-joon Returns with Romance!... Back to the Small Screen with ‘No Dating Other Than You’ https://naver.me/G02QDrdR
This work is a realistic, relatable romance depicting the emotional waves and relational cracks experienced by long-time lovers at a crossroads of marriage when they unexpectedly meet new connections.
Seo Kang-joon plays Nam Goong-ho, an office worker who, after facing the turmoil of his long-time partner, is swept up in an unexpected emotional vortex with a shocking proposal. Seo Kang-joon's signature soft sensibility and delicate inner acting are expected to add persuasiveness to the multifaceted character who faces the complex psychology of love. _____
This kind of complex melodrama was just what I wanted him to do next. 🥰
they better not ruin the romance It would not be the first time kdrama has insane chemistry and then the next…
I mean big bro little sis has essentially been their dynamic for two seasons. Yes they flirted with blurring the lines a little in S2, but there's def more work to do for most people to buy romance.
Seems I made the right call dropping this after 2 episodes. It smelled of mid copypasta from the outset. But as long as people keep eating this up, we'll keep getting bland low-effort romcoms with poor writing.
I preferred the previous English title "Wife of a 21st Century Prince" even if it was just the literal translation of the Korean title. It had more personality. "Perfect Crown" is so bland.
Weird, rating so high but still I see so many people disappointed with this one? I enjoyed it a lot. Even the…
It was a massive global success, and any drama with a lot of viewers (and a lot of hype) inevitably brings a lot of people with differing views to various comment sections. Not very surprising.
