Jo Jin-woong has apologized and announced his retirement from the industry effective immediately. I hope they will still release this drama, for the sake of Lee Je-hoon, Kim Hye-soo, the rest of the cast and all the staff who worked diligently for months for this drama to be made. But we'll see what happens.
I don't think he's enlisting early though? He was born in early 1998 so his due date to enlist should be early…
Plenty of actors enlisted much later though. Song Kang was born in 1994 and enlisted in 2024. Nam Joo Hyuk also born in 1994 and enlisted in 2023. So I don't see why he wouldn't postpone this until after filming Moving 2.
What was the controversy behind him and the female lead, why is everyone so bitter?
They broke up after a long relationship. Lee Hye-ri threw a fit on Instagram after he was spotted with someone new months later, because she seemingly had held out hope that they could fix things (despite not seeing each other or talking to each other for months.) Then the new girl (Han So-hee) also took to Instagram and it was a whole mess.
Ryu Jun-yeol wisely stayed away from social media, choosing not to air dirty laundry in public, but fans of both actresses for some reason think he should have “come to their defense” on social media. So now he’s a “bad guy” because he moved on too quickly after the breakup and because he didn’t wade into the Instagram drama like they wanted him to.
Why isn't Ryu Jun Yeol in the poster? 😕 He is part of the cast, too... Is it because of what happened with…
Ryu Jun Yeol filmed his parts separately with his family in the drama. He did not participate with the entire cast because of Lee Hye Ri, though he cited scheduling issues as his reason.
Oh the misogynists will hate this FL. Not a doormat, and with an actual personality? Taking charge and initiating some kissing action? Probably being a bit opinionated and strong-willed? Oh it's over for them.
The tv ratings for this are as dire as its MDL rating, starting out at 2.7%, falling to just 1.5%, a 44% drop. Some will always claim a disliked drama is a misunderstood masterpiece; usually it's not the case.
Participation period for crew members has been listed to start in November 2025 and is scheduled to go through…
Apparently Choo Young-woo is filming Love Doctor until February (only a four-month shoot seems quick even for Ahn Pan-seok), which makes me wonder if he's still doing this. Strange that we have not gotten anything more solid on casting if crew stuff has started already.
Nam Ji-hyun has been a child actress and has a 21-year acting career. She’s already won awards for basically…
Also not sure what awards they are talking about, she's neither won a Baeksang nor a Blue Dragon Award. Most of her nominations are from the networks' own end-of-year awards, which hardly count for anything.
Its his first romcom role since What's Wrong with Secretary Kim
I wouldn't expect a romcom, it seems like a mistranslation to me. Everything about this suggests a romance melodrama, including the trailer and the comments made by director+cast.

(It's also a much better poster)

It looks really nice, I love the vibe of it. Tinge of melancholy, perfect for December.
