This has already started filming and is aiming for a release in the second half of 2026.

Big difference between three years and ten years. They could've cast a more experienced, skilled actor in his late 20s instead and still stayed true to the webtoon.

It was just so evident in The Tale of Lady Ok how much more talented Choo Young Woo is in terms of acting range and going toe to toe with a more experienced actress. I wish Kim Jae Won luck, because he's gonna need it lest Kim Go Eun and her excellent acting eats him alive and spits him back out.

Seems more like Kim Go Eun liked working with him on You and Everything Else and suggested him to the casting director. Which could mean their chemistry will be good at least. But there's a reason why actors are actors and not casting directors. It does seem like a very uneven match.

This is a great project on paper at least. We'll see if the drama is actually good. Neither Hierarchy nor Crushology 101 did anything much for his career. Cashero is a promising project, too.

I'm more worried about the gap in acting experience and skill.

Interesting choice. 10-year age gap. He's going to have to be far more impressive than he was in Hierarchy and The Tale of Lady Ok in order to be seen as a realistic romantic partner to Kim Go-eun.

He really should've picked better roles after Under the Queen's Umbrella. His agency should've advised him not to go for ML roles right away since he's so young; he should have cut his teeth on more supporting roles in better dramas first to gain more experience.

Stuff related to the romance aspect in the character write-ups:

Dong-ju is absolutely smitten when he stumbles upon the beautiful Ji Han-na through work. Han-na is happy to finally be assigned to the special team, despite having the overly enamored Dong-ju and her ex-boyfriend Jong-hyeon as teammates. Jong-hyeon works hard to graduate from the police academy due to his desire to reunite with his former girlfriend, Han-na.

Looks like a little bit of a love triangle, presumably mostly in a comedic way.

Oh, there was controversy around this project last year, apparently. Seems like the ML was originally meant to be a male escort, and Knetz were not having it. No wonder Ahn Hyo-seop passed.

This was the project Ahn Hyo-seop was offered last year, so he must have rejected it.

Filming is currently ongoing, aiming for a Q3/Q4 2026 release (sigh Netflix).

This really needs to be better than Love Next Door, which almost made me forget why I like Jung Hae-in. Happy to see Ha Young get to try her hand at a FL role in a romance after Trauma Code.
