The fusion sageuk aspect with the time slip is probably my favorite part of this. I can't wait for her to blow his Joseon mind with modern dishes that aren't invented yet in that time period. What better way to win over a gourmet tyrant king than through amazing food? He's gonna fall first, I'm sure of it.
I feel like people are being too harsh on this drama ngl. It hasn't even aired yet. We haven't we gotten a teaser…
A lot of people on this site feel very strongly about young male actors being cast opposite more experienced actresses. It feels “off” to them because of their own personal preference of older male actors.
You see it every time this happens. People are complaining and saying oh they should’ve cast so and so [insert popular male actor between the ages of 35-45 here].
I guess it’s made worse here as they initially did cast an older male actor. But neither Chaemin nor Yoona deserve hate or preconceived notions just because someone couldn’t manage their Instagram account properly.
This is a pass for me. The problem for me is that the source material which is the basis for this sageuk, web…
Seems an odd thing to care about that the character is loosely based on some king that has been dead for centuries; they even changed the name. But you do you!
Since netflix dramas are getting shorter and shorter....old days was a minimal of 16 eps.. then again better short…
Netflix dramas are not "getting shorter". They've been consistent since they started making Korean content. Their K-originals are typically 6-12 episodes.
It’s so funny that all we get is them eating. Like we get it, they have lots of meals together. Hopefully not too often though because group scenes with meals are notoriously hard to film well and can easily get repetitive if overused. We’ll see, I guess.
I mean it haven't even started what chemistry are you even talking about ? 😂. I have to disagree with you on…
"They don't match" is just your personal opinion. I think they match perfectly. PSH was too old to portray the Joseon tyrant the ML is based on, who ascended the throne at 18 and ruled through his 20s. For those of us who love noona dramas, this is shaping up to be a visual feast (in more ways than one).
the production is so fast tho ? 🫣 we could see this in August I think? don’t know if this is good or not,…
They started filming in January and will finish next month. Pretty standard filming period for 12-episode dramas. Then they'll have over a month for post-production.
This is essentially an industry-wide problem at this point, with production costs ballooning and producers looking to cut costs wherever they can. More pronounced on big productions like this.
There are only three things that are certain in life: death, taxes, and people in the comment section on MDL turning on a romance drama the second an annoying ex or a love triangle is introduced.
