Made my way through this in a breeze today and wow Choo Young-woo was just destined to blow up. One of the best debut performances I've seen. So finely modulated, hitting all the emotional beats.
I liked him in parasite, but I didn't think he would be so popular afterwards. If someone could recommend his…
He was popular before Parasite too for his roles in Train to Busan and The Witch. He used to do mostly movies so he doesn’t have many dramas where he’s the lead, but I really liked Our Beloved Summer and can’t wait to see him in Melo Movie on Friday.
They're unhinged and unfortunately won't see reason, even when proven wrong.
They deleted their post when I replied and told them that this silly "scandal" has made absolutely no noise and that all the latest news items about him on Naver are positive articles. Then they blocked me. 🤣
Is this already airing in the UK. I can't find it 😭
Maybe on Prime? It's available on different streaming services depending on where you live, but I don't know about the UK specifically. Hopefully Netflix will get global rights eventually.
It's the Joseon period, nobody's gonna shout from rooftops that they're a homosexual. If you can't understand euphemisms and subtext, then that's not really anyone else's problem than your own.
Yes, he did when he disclosed his secret that he can't embrace women and that he'd be killed if people found out. That's why she agreed to marry him. Not to mention how he started the Devoted Hearts Association to help children who were like him (their gender or sexual identity deviating from the social norm) like Hae-gang. He also came clean to his father about his secret when his father asked why he started the association. This was not especially ambiguous.
Nah. It's made no noise and he already explained and apologized. It's not even trending on Naver. All the recent articles are positive ones about the Gucci photocall and his many funny expressions in Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. He's also filming a romcom drama to be released later this year which will only increase his popularity.
Come on now Netflix originals will also come in parts why can't they release the whole thing at once like melo…
Because it's 16 episodes, not 10 or 8. Netflix have never released 16 at once. And the drama is divided into four acts based on the seasons of the year, so the schedule makes sense.
I actually like Crushology 101 as a title. It's a clever play on how introductory university courses are named, and the theme of the drama is Bunny's many on-campus crushes, after all.
Bunny and her Boys was fine, but "boys" is not really a great translation of "oppas", because in English "her boys" often refers to someone's children, not their adult crushes.
Here's also an interview that Choo Young-woo did where he talks about portraying an LGBT character in this drama:

(it's funny we can say this about both leads 🤣)
