That’s not what I said. I said when the offer came to Lee Chae-min, it is likely that Kim Soo-hyun would have advised him to accept it. But of course, when an actor drops out last minute, it’s not uncommon that they rely on their network, because they don’t have time to spend ages casting a replacement; they must act swiftly to avoid delay, because a delay would affect hundreds of workers who rely on a paycheck.
I have no issue with age gaps between actors, but for me yoon ah is grown woman all dramas i've seen her in has…
On the contrary, it seems very likely that label mate (and co-founder) at Gold Medalist Kim Soo-hyun, advised his junior Chae-min that he should do this drama, just as he himself did a noona drama with this director when he was the same age (to great success, as we all know).
Also you'll see Chae-min lead a college drama first (in April), so you get your wish, as he's not jumping to adult roles just yet. Besides, supposedly the king was in his 20s in the webtoon.
And sexist toward women. Why are some people throwing shade at Yoona over the age gap thing?
It's weird. They have no issue with the man being 10 years older (which happens all the time) but suddenly it's a problem when it's the guy who is younger.
lol....They don't match at all. She looks way too old with CHW. and his appearance also look like that of a school…
All of the things you point to are deliberate and part of the webtoon (him being younger than her and looking/acting more immature). Might just not be your cup of tea.
He'll be back for Squid Game 3 in June, and then hopefully he can book a new project to film this fall. He probably would have been able to do the drama he backed out of if the table read and start of filming wasn't so close in time to his mistake. There wasn't enough time for the public to forget about it. And we know knetz are ruthless. But this shouldn't derail his career, so hopefully he can get back on top.
How is Hyunwook so funny already in such a brief clip. I knew he would be perfect as this sweet, childish nepo baby who gets to be a boss just because his dad owns the department store. 🐉
List of great actors in their 30s:Jung Hae In, Ji Chang Wook, Wi Ha Joon, Na In Woo, Choi Jin Hyuk, Yoon Shi Yoon,…
Nah, they're gonna keep choosing Lee Chae Min and Choi Hyun Wook and Ryeoun and Moon Sang Min and all the other youngsters just so that you can feel personally aggrieved 🤣
They can replace him with a rookie actor because they know the character and whether an actor is a good fit or…
The director clearly thinks he can bring what they want to the role, which is why they offered it to him. Suggesting he is miscast before you have seen a single frame of footage is unreasonable - and solely based on your own prejudice.
Those who are talking about age gaps & noona roms of this drama—you're all missing a point. Age gap & noona…
They can replace him with a rookie actor because they know the character and whether an actor is a good fit or not. They made that decision with all the facts about the script. Meanwhile you guys are complaining without knowing anything other than a general synopsis.
They clearly think it doesn't matter if the ML actor is 24 or 39. Many characters are not inherently a certain age, and they have plenty of time to do minor script adjustments if needed.
oh lee chae min was 100% an internal recommendation (he has worked with kang han na, who is also cast here, in…
I wonder if maybe Lee Jun-ho spoke highly of him to YoonA. He worked with Chae-min on Cashero recently and just sent a coffee truck to the set of Crushology 101 the other day.
People bringing up the age gap as if the director who cast Kim Soo-hyun opposite noona Jun Ji-hyun in My Love from the Star would care. The fact is that lots of people love noona romances. Lee Chae-min is the same age as KSH was; they wouldn't cast him if they didn't think he could do this character justice.
Coincidentally, KSH is also LCM's senior at Gold Medalist. I'm sure he'll guide his junior well 🤗
As much as I really like Choi Hyun Wook, my first reaction is that he is maybe too young at only 22 for this role.…
The character is supposed to be childish, if that wasn't clear from the description and the two posters, so I think he's just perfect for this. They also look great together, I think.
