Although their romance was slow in the beginning of the drama, I loved their romance in the second half of drama. I thought maybe if I read the novel I won’t miss any details that the drama may have skipped lol

He was just joking, if you recall end of episode 31, he said he’ll meet her again in 20 years, so he was making a joke out of that, although I did hear from a novel reader that after he was cured from his poison, it take him a couple of months to wake up, but in the drama he woke up the next day.

Yes it definitely caught my attention later too, I skipped a lot in the beginning too, and after their romance take off, I find myself rewinding those parts constantly so I can watch them over and over lol

Yea I’m not really sure what the hell the editing team was doing??? Didn’t they even have extra time since they had to stop filming for a little bit due to pandemic?? Like do they not look over the stuff they edit? I remember in one
scene, I think it was when Xie Yun or somebody was reading something and all the letters on that was blurred out. Like why blurred that out?? So freaken weird to me! I just feel so bad for our main leads cuz they did a wonderful job with their acting but now all people really talk about is how bad the edits, cuts, and production was. SMH.

Episode 50

I personally find it refreshing to the see the leads roles switch for once. So tired of seeing weak female lead, it’s so nice seeing a strong female lead role once in awhile. By any means I don’t think Xie Yun was weak at all. Although he didn’t have martial arts skills like A’fei he was very intellectually smart, knew so much about the world, and the world problems, had a sharp tongue, and had very powerful internal forces. Unfortunately he couldn’t use that due to the “problem”, but he helps A’fei out a lot along the way, I think in the end of episode 27 she even said she couldn’t have done without him and he’s was her good luck charm. Since he can’t use his martial arts, he had to get very creative in helping A’Fei out, it was fun to watch that. But I agree with you about the production and the storyline. It could have been so much better, if ZLY and Yibo wasn’t in drama I would have drop it in the beginning too. But I kept watching cuz I really liked their chemistry and their chemistry grew stronger and stronger as the story went on and I became obsessed with them.

I’ve been rewatching their scene over and over, they’re so cute!! Having withdrawals from not seeing them lol
