It’s really confusing, but basically the poisoner made two antidote but he’s not sure which one will work, XY has to guess and take one, but if he takes the one wrong one, it can kill him. After he took it, he didn’t show any improvements so A’fei got really worried and tried the the Yang/yin energy transfer and push the poison out of him.

Interested in episode 27, and I also feel like the plot is much more clearer at that point too and things starts to connect. In the beginning they sorta of just go on an adventure and the FL is learning all these martial arts from these old powerful martial artists. Although their romance is almost to nothing in the beginning I think it shows their bond to each other which than doe connect to their romance once it kicks off. I’m rewatching it in the beginning now since I skim so much at first.

Yea some Of the comments I’ve read are so brutal. Like how some are saying ZLY is too old to play A’Fei, like are we looking at the same actress? Cuz she looks really young to me. Or the age gap between the leads. Like I can’t even tell.

I’ve never read the novel, but I heard from a novel reader that due to censorship issues in China they had to changeXY background story so his background is quite different from the novel. Also that after A’fei meets XY’s master (the old monk) which is in episode 31, the story really deviates away from the novel. Also upset of how XY’s poison was solved in the drama. It seems to me that novel readers are prettty disappointed with drama. They also mention that drama focus a lot on the side characters, where in the book it really just focus on A’Fei. Since I didn’t read the novel, I really enjoyed the drama. I feel like the chemistry between the two leads is what made the drama to me. But I totally get the frustrating of a novel readers. Did you read the novel in Chinese?
