First impressions: It's a tad on the weird side, the characters are very 'quirky' which could lead to something unwatchable or great! I like both Kang Ha Neul and Gong Hyo Jin so I'll remain hopeful!
i feel a bit torn atm episode 10 made me feel so much for eun gi :( so fricking sad (although i dont want him to end up with duk mi) i just want to see him appreciated and loved.. if they dont give him a nice ending i'll cry.
I liked it, felt weird during the whole movie but it was good. The relationship between the old poet and the young girl felt heartrending and very sad. The way he looked at her was as if he started living again and seeing that go away after realizing that it can't be. Also Kim Mu Yeol made a wonderful performance, really made the movie in my opinion. Raw envy at it's best.
The relationships were not of the normal sort and that reminded of Haruki Murakami's books (which is my favorite author btw) so I'm not surprised that I liked this movie.
ALSO to clarify, I feel like the age difference of this movie is ok because the director shows it in a bad light. It doesn't romanticize relationships with underage people which I think is really important.
You could give it a try, BUT don't have to high expectations. The romance isn't anything out of this world but seems like a lot of people enjoy the suspense!
People being a bit too harsh on everything recently here on MDL? Really enjoying this so far!
I feel the opposite :o Everyone gives so high rating to stuff that's from the bottom of the barrel (don't mean that Kill It is the worst, im taking about dramas in general)
It makes me angry when Jung Hyung Don insults members of Monsta X. Especially Jooheon, who is a superbly talented…
I understand what you mean, they often cross a line with jokes. Although to talk down to someone often has a different meaning in between cultures, so it's not that big of a deal in their culture. In western culture it's not that common to joke about a persons looks, ways of talking etc but from what I've experienced South Korea is more okay with that type of humor.
Making fun of someone is something that you'll see in almost every Korean Variety show. I feel like the people that are made fun off and the ones that jokes about them are both in on the joke and won't view it as offensive. It could just an easy way to make a joke, what they say often don't have any real meaning and both parts are aware of that.
I feel that some of the jokes they make could be viewed as very offensive but I understand that I have to take them talking down to some idols that they are close to with a grain of salt (it's mostly for fun and games)
I try to give every drama I start a fair chance, sometimes a series needs a few episodes to settle in. I've seen 5 episodes of this overdramatic action/very boring monotone series and I feel the need to rant about this.
Okay, so far Kill It sucks in my opinion. It feels like the writers got away with doing the least amount of work because they have two popular actors in the series.
The plot never really focuses on anything which makes it feel like were stuck on square one, whenever the male lead figures out something new about his past it feels like he already knew all along? What's the fucking point then? You know that the female lead is the paper plane girl and she knows you so just talk to her? I honestly can't tell if it's just plot holes or if the story is THIS bad. They had a great concept, and packaged it great with some awesome aesthetics that made me exited to see this Action/Thriller but feels like they didn't work enough on the story and just went along with whatever they could come up with.
The action is ridiculous, right out of a Tom Cruise movie. "WOW the main is such a cool guy what a hero, he can take on anything." It just felt a bit icky and cringey, they made him too good in my opinion. And the female's dart skills just pushed me off the edge, like can't a female lead be badass without having this "amazing/crazy" talent? Being a good policeofficer would have made the series feel less cringey and B-ish.
Also a big thing that made me disappointed was the chemistry between the leads. If a series doesn't have a great plot, cinematography or lines it has one thing left to survive on; CHEMISTRY. Nope we didn't get that either, damn they could just not do anything right could they? No sparks, nothing. The characters feel so distant to eachother that I just could not see how this could turn into a "love" story. Btw; Who are these characters? I feel like we don't get to know them, I've spent 5 hours on this and I have no idea what their goals are, what they are doing and why. Maybe the writers wanted it to feel mysterious but this is just to a point where I feel lost and uninterested because I couldn't find any characters to connect with.
AND I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion but both the leads feel so annoying to me? The female lead acts like she has known the others for years like the day after she moves into the apartment? And the male says like 5 words each episode and just looks stoic into the distance, am I supposed to swoon? No thank you. Bye Kill It, you didn't kill it. You wasted a great concept and I wish we could get a re do because I believed in this concept so much.
Sorry for this rant, maybe it's just me being in a bad mood but idk. My grammar also sucks, but could not care less. Although I may be feeling bitter about this series I would like to hear what your thoughts on the series is and how you like it this far! Bye.
As always, a great article that gives me some new views on cinematography! Thank you for putting in all this time and effort into these articles, I will look forward to your future projects! ♡
