Honestly, I'm not sure if I find this good, I just know that it's so entertaining. The turn of events in ep 18 are truly so unbelievable. Feels like I'm watching a completely different drama. I'm screaming and laughing about the many plot twist. OMG.

I enjoyed it until Jiang Ci became sad and passive. Their one romantic moment was also really their first and last, I'd say it was when she knelt with him and agreed to play the role of his wife longer. Then like five almost kisses, only for their first kiss to be at a hidden angle.

I think it lost in quality the moment Jiang Ci entered the palace. She just became such a passive role, always being knocked out by someone and having no free will. The one romantic moment was in Yue Luo, when she put that flower in his hair and then after that when she knelt with him and agreed to play the role of his wife longer. That's it basically.
As a woman, the scariest thing is the obsessive affection and attention of a man who won't accept your no. her master probably wouldn't have died, or at least not in that way, when PY would't force a marriage that nobody but him wants.
Okay, so I've watched two episodes so far in these are my two cents. 1. This is my first time seeing the female lead actress and I wished she'd wear less make up because when is she supposed to put on her eyeshadow and lipstick in the desert? While being chased, attacked, kidnapped, etc. It reminds me of Ju Jing Yi, where nobody allows her to be just slightly unpolished. 2. I'm not yet sure about her acting, because while she seems to do enough, it feels like her eyes and brows just never move. It's not yet too distracting, I guess I can get used to it and maybe it's because her character has only been enraged so far. 3. I really really really hope Rou Wen is nobody's love interest or end game because the way he manhandled both female leads so far and the way he has spoken about women and his intention with them, just let's you know that he has graped too many women already. There is no romanticization of him possible, no redemption. 4. The last scene in the second ep has me intrigued but honestly it was also very cringe. I was rolling my eyes all the time while simultaneously smiling and hoping the male lead has enough sense to reject her drugged advances. 5. I'm excited to see Alen Deng the first time in the first male lead role because I always thought he was too handsome to be an annoying second lead. haha.
PY really showed his colours when he tried to hold JC captive, but using the people against the city people being his idea really shows that there is no redemption for him. Guy even had the audacity to act surprised when those people were killed off
Honestly, seeing Pei Yang so obsessed with her just surprises me, because not once in their time when she still thought highly of him, did he not use her. Now, he is all flashbacks and memories, but not once did he save her for just simply saving her life, but to catch the assassin. That's why the first time he didn't let her leave, I did not register that it was at least partly because he fell for her. I just thought he liked her enough to feel maybe a little guilty for using her, not that he was actually catching feelings. And despite him continuously showing a grey character, I did not expect that he would actually be so obsessed and entitled to hold her captive.
