In those times, being exiled with your reputation ruined is pretty much death. The men get exiled (or kill themselves)…
Didn't her dad say that he was allowed to come back in 2 years? His reputation won't ever be the same, but he's still not dead. Anyway, I just mean that this outcome is still more favourable compared to the first life, however her character seems so rotten this time. Granted, we didn't see much of her but Qian also seems so surprised by Mu Yaos immoral decisions, as if she honestly expected better of her.
I said this won't touch the original, and I do kinda still stand by that, but the first ep was promising, and I really like that we're getting a complete different storyline, and I'm also in love with the comic-esque feeling. My only concern is that I may be falling victim to a for me a very rare case of 2nd lead syndrome.
My roommate and I are watching this together and I told her this would be the plotwise pretty early, and she didn't believe me. But I'm a seasoned Kdrama watcher, at this point there is rarely something that surprises me any more. It's just sad that with the little queer representation given in TV dramas, they chose him as the murderer.
As a new watcher, I think Xu Kai's dramas more inclined towards mature audiences. I mean, I don't think young…
my first comment was tthat xu kai doesn't often choose decentt scripts, my answer to further complaints was that I chose to word scripts because I'm aware one actor is not responsible for the whole drama....

I said I was curious about this that's why it's related, I don't know how you read it as entirely negative. I used the word "script" for the reason specifically because I know one actor doesn't make the whole drama. I would've commented the same under whatever drama
I've watched 16 eps until now and though I find it very interesting, I really dislike the ML right now. I keep watching in hope for at least a bit of character development, but I'm just put off by characters that view everyone as bystanders and not as worthy for anything. Though, I don't know what Jian Hong will do in coming eps, at this point I truly feel Li Xun is the villain of the story. Because if he's nice it's only ever to Zhu Yun, and then it's mostly a backhanded niceness, where you will be mad about something he did, and he won't ever explain himself and then after sometime his action will turn out to be beneficial to what ever situation she was in, and then she feels grateful. I don't think you have to be nice to everyone, but I don't ever think that there is any excuse for looking down on others, and so far that's the only thing that Li Xun has done,

If you or others feel insulted by my comment, then that's sad, but I will not apologize because I said I don't like some dramas he's acted in. If I always insult someone when I say something is bad or not good, and people don't know that taste is subjective, then there is nothing I can do about it, because I truly don't understand why people take it so personal.
Should I just lie and say he always picks the best scripts? Is everyone happy then? Because if I voice out a compliment I guess then it's fact and not only my opinion any more, but do I then insult the people that didn't like his dramas either?
So if its turned out bad, Xu Kai picked the script but if it turned out good esther pick the script.
I'm not even trashing him. I like Xu Kai, but in my opinion his last few dramas just weren't it. doesn't mean I hate him, doesn't mean I won't try watching his future projects. I just had more luck with Esther as her dramas were more interesting for me, but it's also not like I love everything she ever starred in. it's not that serious
This is funny cos I'm also curious what you and the 8 others that liked your comment would say when this airs…
If it's a hit I am happy, if it's not, then it's just not. I like Xu Kai that's why I look into most of his projects, his last dramas just sadly weren't really that interesting in my opinion.

adding an "IMO" because some people act triggered
