I hope it'll turn out that He Dun still has her guard up against Jia Hui and fools him into believing he is safe while searching for information, but then again, I don't think she would've involved her mother then.
the acting of all the important characters is so interesting and fun to watch because they deliver various facial expressions without looking cringy doing them.
I really like Chae Soo Bin, liked her chemistry with all her male leads, that's why I know she won't disappoint. And Minho ... my love ... I'm so excited to see you in another lead role.
YAAAAAS LET'S GOOO. Minho is so hot that it literally hurts me to look at him, but oh boy, if I'll die watching him in another drama, then it was worth it. His acting improved much in recent projects, so I'm excited to see what he can offer.
I think the reason it looks so extremely cheap has 2 major reasons. The first reason for me would be the dubbing, it's just so bad sometimes that it takes me out of the story. But what really makes me cringe is the white lightning. Like it's so overexposed that it looks like a theatre stage at best. Tell me how it's the middle of the night, but I don't see any shadows? The plot tries to be serious, but the overexposing makes it look like a drama for children, especially with all the pink blood. When I manage to blend these out, I do quite enjoy the show. There are other things like the costumes and styling, some part of acting and action choreography, but in my case it's not like I have any credible knowledge about Shanghai in the 1920s, so for me, it's easy to pass that by, and at least the leads' acting is fine and the action scenes I don't care for anyway.
I read it because I didn't mind reading a spoiler of THIS drama? How was I supposed to know they would refer to another drama I was watching? Am I a telepath or something?
I wouldn't necessarily call this good, but also not bad. I understand why people like it or dislike it. Personally, I think it is very watchable. Nice pacing and overall satisfactory storytelling, I'd say, though very fabricated and predictable. There is little going on of character development, and most characters just feel like a tool, but I like the romance and the plot logic (even if not perfect) is not completely trying to fool you as a watcher. I still have like 14 episodes to go, so I hope it stays like this. It's quite nice to watch in the meantime of waiting for other dramas.
I think this would've worked better as a 2h film, not so much as a drama. It's just very repetitive, and personally, I find it barely relatable, because the characters just have no personality and even less chemistry.
In the table accident, she directly said shed be angry if he sent the money and she repeatedly said not to change…
I guess that he probably won't have any time for her, or that maybe he has to move, and that he broke up with Yumi to be "fair" to her. I hope we get answers in the second season.
Also, he lacks so much empathy because he's all so analytical, and that may be just who he is, but it's getting…
Yeah, after the Saeyi thing, hadn't quite realized that this man really gives nothing. In my mind, they had a serious and thoughtful conversation after the event off-screen, it took me a while to realize they didn't. That birthday disaster, it was embarrassing, but not so bad to break up. LOL!

LOL. Yeah, my affection paralleled Yumi's. It's just that I'm way less forgiving, and a lot more petty, that's why while Yumi was still patient, I was already waiting for their break-up in ep8 or so, after he lied about his housing situation. It may have helped, though, that I knew they were gonna break up.

Exactly, the text wouldn't even have been an issue, if she didn't have already enough reasons to break up with him. It was just that right at that moment it was a sign of effort he didn't give that she needed to hold on further. Woong didn't even ask or wonder why she'd be angry for the payment of the table, because he just didn't care. Yumi is not bad at communication, she's just too forgiving and too patient. Every time they had a conflict, she would show her discomfort either by clear facial expression and body language, or more often she would straight up say what she dislikes. But instead of explaining himself, Woong will go on to "what's wrong~" and coax her. She will ask a question to understand why Woong does certain things, and he gives her nothing. She was unhappy that he moved out and asks why, he didn't answer, and then she's even supposed to tell him how it makes her feel insecure that he is so unresponsive. All that, while Woong knew he was making her worry, but he kept quiet still. Communication is not a one-sided job. Could Yumi have done more? Yes, in her place I would've fought him many times, but I feel like people ignore her effort. You cannot communicate if the other person is unresponsive by choice. Woong was not dumb, and he wasn't as clueless as he acted like, he just chose to ignore whenever he knew that he was making Yumi feel insecure. And in the end, he rather lied to her and leave her with a trauma for mentioning marriage in her next relationship, instead of being honest and transparent the first time as a last time in their relationship, because his reason for breaking up was 100% because of his new job opportunity.

should've been a 90 min film
