the first ep was kinda crap, I found Hira especially weird, but after that I got to understand Hira's character and now with the POV by Kiyoi, the plot and their relationship actually makes a lot of sense, which I didn't think would be possible. I'm really into it right now.
I don't see how SBS did anything wrong or how he was supposed to be stupid? Him ripping up the contract was unnecessary, but SZY's biggest hardship came from believing she knew who he liked, couldn't have predicted that both girls would come to the same conclusions despite him emphasizing that he would not fall for his partner. Their whole story started because he faked a relationship to make his ex partner realize there weren't any chances with him. But other than that? Like he just wanted to confess and some mistake happened. It was out of his control. He always treated XQ with respect, she was in her own world believing he liked her. Besides SZY, it could've been any other girl that caught his eye. He had always been nice to her, but since she wanted to believe he fell for her, she interpreted any nice thing to be an act of love. He immediately solved the misunderstanding with her, while being empathetic enough to not do it in front of the entire crowd. I don't dislike XQ much, it's just that I know that she'll make more trouble. Besides her manipulation SZY after the false confession, she had been quite pleasant and open and honest with her feelings. Though, she is an opportunist. I hope they don't completely ruin her character and leave her room for redemption and have her still be friends with the girls at the end.
Slow burn and suffer are the words used to describe intense emotional drama which can leave deep impact. Something…
Well, you're wrong. My emotions are intense, and the impact is strong, and I'll most likely rate this ten stars and rewatch this at least twice in the next year. Comfort dramas can hit hard, too. ✌️
I hope it'll turn out that He Dun still has her guard up against Jia Hui and fools him into believing he is safe while searching for information, but then again, I don't think she would've involved her mother then.

the acting of all the important characters is so interesting and fun to watch because they deliver various facial expressions without looking cringy doing them.
I really like Chae Soo Bin, liked her chemistry with all her male leads, that's why I know she won't disappoint. And Minho ... my love ... I'm so excited to see you in another lead role.
YAAAAAS LET'S GOOO. Minho is so hot that it literally hurts me to look at him, but oh boy, if I'll die watching him in another drama, then it was worth it. His acting improved much in recent projects, so I'm excited to see what he can offer.
I think the reason it looks so extremely cheap has 2 major reasons. The first reason for me would be the dubbing, it's just so bad sometimes that it takes me out of the story. But what really makes me cringe is the white lightning. Like it's so overexposed that it looks like a theatre stage at best. Tell me how it's the middle of the night, but I don't see any shadows? The plot tries to be serious, but the overexposing makes it look like a drama for children, especially with all the pink blood. When I manage to blend these out, I do quite enjoy the show. There are other things like the costumes and styling, some part of acting and action choreography, but in my case it's not like I have any credible knowledge about Shanghai in the 1920s, so for me, it's easy to pass that by, and at least the leads' acting is fine and the action scenes I don't care for anyway.
I read it because I didn't mind reading a spoiler of THIS drama? How was I supposed to know they would refer to another drama I was watching? Am I a telepath or something?
I wouldn't necessarily call this good, but also not bad. I understand why people like it or dislike it. Personally, I think it is very watchable. Nice pacing and overall satisfactory storytelling, I'd say, though very fabricated and predictable. There is little going on of character development, and most characters just feel like a tool, but I like the romance and the plot logic (even if not perfect) is not completely trying to fool you as a watcher. I still have like 14 episodes to go, so I hope it stays like this. It's quite nice to watch in the meantime of waiting for other dramas.

but also, this is a drama list.

should've been a 90 min film
