I was suffering when I had to wait a whole week for another episode of MHIL, but now that we get an episode every day, it seems like time runs so quickly. There's only 7 episodes left, smh.
It seems like I'm the only one who didn't mind this episode. I liked seeing Arthit's inner turmoil. This episode had to clearly show how he's on the edge all the time, and he's struggling to admit that his actions are irrational even in his eyes. How he could fall for the girl he made his enemy? He doesn't understand himself. However, I did dislike his behavior. Just as with Paeng, I understand how or where he comes from, but it's not at all an excuse for the continuous terror he puts on her. Nonetheless, I think it was important to show that now he does all of it out of desperation and confusion. I'm also fine with the upcoming kidnapping, I really don't mind. Arthit has been such a dick to Paeng that all of his small nice gestures towards her immediately alarm some suspicion in her (rightfully) and I guess it takes a big moment for her to realize that he does actually not hate her (though I guess another plot, less dramatic, would've done the same).
The first few episodes were cute and the relationships seemed very interesting. However, somehow along the way, it felt as if they forgot about the plot. Even though, it kept being cute, it quickly lost its appeal. I could only go through the episodes by fast-forwarding. Then, there is this whole "he is a minor"-situation, that really didn't sit right with me. It was weird how it was not even worth one single thought of RaRa. And the moment they had to separate, or rather had to do long-distance, it was almost unbearable for me. I did think of completing it because I've come such a long way already, but reading some comments, and having spoiled myself a little, I guess it's the best to drop it right here at ep13.
I'm really happy tomorrow is going to be a very busy day for me because I won't have time to wait for the next episode. If I'm lucky, then maybe the next time I turn on my computer episode 11 will be out and subbed.
The whole scene where Paeng and Thanon confessed to them dating had me crack up. Arthit's face was just hilarious, and he really had to throw up because of jealousy and denial. Also, the scene after they were fighting for Paeng's phone? Hilarious (though slightly violent).
I don't know with this drama. It started cute, but the development of their relationship takes for ever, sometimes some of their actions didn't even make much sense and when they finally got together it became pretty stale all of a sudden, some side characters seemed more interesting, but they didn't show their development at all. Also, somehow, all of a sudden, there were some serious red flags developing from his side and I didn't get how it was supposed to be cute or something admirable. The second female lead was also really pathetic and I'm starting to notice the reoccurring trend in Chinese dramas (maybe it was never really gone, but I'm seeing a lot of it right now) of solely second female leads that have no shame and no pride and really think the male lead would fall for them if only the female lead was gone. I'm f***ing tired of it. Conclusion: Though I was regularly watching every episode, I didn't actually have a good time.
Lastly, I think we're all ready to see Irene Song in a more mature role. I'm tired of seeing her act the role of an innocent young girl just because she's smaller than all of her onscreen partners. Maybe it's only me, but I don't think she looks much younger than her actual age, I think she just looks normally aged.
Honestly, this drama is pretty good. It's super easy-going. There is nothing to raise your blood pressure, the leads have pretty good chemistry and their romance, once it starts, is cute and natural. It may not be perfect, but it is very casual. I binged it in 2 days, and I was really, really enjoying just going with the flow.
