I suggest watching it again because you obviously don’t understand the story. ofc hurting does not equal protecting, to protect someone.. 9/10 tough decisions will be made. even if he didn’t break up with her and was cold to her .. she would still be hurt and so would he. the biggest hurt for them is not being together.. all the crazy stuff that had happened .. their separation destroyed them the most.

also remember her dream is to marry her first love .. so you can see it as her chasing after her dreams lol. she does her best of sticking beside him because he’s never had that and like she said he will keep on softening up and plus he really loves her. you asked why she kept going to him when he was being mean it’s because she can see it in his eyes that he was lying that’s why she told him keep pretending. they communicate with each other using their eyes. also when he proposed to her .. he pulled out that note he kept for like 7 years!! I do admit that I wanted her to slap him harder lol but that’s not her so it wouldn’t make sense for us to get that.
