YES 100% it is one of the best cdramas I've watched and the best historical I've seen. The writing is amazing, the character development esp of the FL is just astonishing. You can watch ep 1 to ep 50 or so on youtube, the subs are really good.. then after you can watch the rest on dramacool or something. I feel so EMPTY after finishing this drama, you watch zhen huan grow and develop and overcome so many obstacles and watching her life unfold is quite the journey. Not to mention, she is super smart, good with people, and book smart too - she takes initiative and is not your typical FL who waits and lets things happen to her
Just finished this MASTERPIECE of a drama and still processing all the emotions, honestly the best historical cdrama I've watched, the writing and character development is sublime and its commentary on human nature, women's status back then, interpersonal relationships etc is just A+. Ngl I am considering rewatching it already

Just finished this and what an inspiring, empowering, well written, comforting show! out of all the female centric dramas I've watched this might be the best one Iv'e watched - it's hilarious, doesn't take itself seriously, touches on important social issues like sexual harassement, sexism in the workplace, etc but isn't overly preachy, the acting is phenomonal etc etc

How is this? Generally not a fan of Taiwanese or Chinese dramas at all.
the first 1-2 eps is kinda slow and hard to get into but once you get to like ep 4-5 you can't stop watching! it won a lot of awards in taiwan and is quite popular not only in taiwa/china even among korean fans and also intl fans. u should give it a try
