it has been a year and i'm still thinking about that last twist in the end and then it all made sense fsdfsdf…
so it turns out that chao yang really pushed his little sister off to her death, and yue pu kept it a secret for him. also this drama is kind of like a villian origin story for chao yang, it's really subtle but u can see all the little hints of him showing his evil side
rooting for cai bing and shen xiao ting! with that said i cannot STAND mnet's editing, shady as always and so many repeated moments and random zoom ins
imo i think it's probs scripted but i lowkey wish the host was meng jia or wang fei fei instead, i think it'd…
Yeah I think so, I am glad Han Hong gave a bit more constructive feedback later.. I'm guessing the weird 'who tf are u' intro was to throw the ladies off and/or to be funny but it could have been done in a better way...
yes those groups are still together! ig they wanted to do an 'all stars' girl group competition of previous idols to see who would come out on top? i hope there's no mnet evil editing lol, i don't think there will be bc the girls seem rly respectful of each other. guess we will see how it goes later!
I'm like 30 minutes in and I'm sorry, all the participants are amazing, but the host is so awful? I'd drop it…
imo i think it's probs scripted but i lowkey wish the host was meng jia or wang fei fei instead, i think it'd be easier for the girls to relate to them. han hong has good intentions and she's a veteran in chinese music scene, everyone respects her. but yeah ik what u mean
i feel bad for pinky (zhou jie qiong), she's been away from the stage for a while now since she's ventured into acting so obvs she probs a lil rusty. i was so scared the girls would only give her 1 vote T_T jia you PINKY!! she was so nice giving all the other girls votes too <3
i want to start this drama for Yoon Sol and Seo Jiwan but i lowkey wish they had more screentime ;; pls let them be endgame, sapphic rep in kdramas is so rare
Do you guys recommend watching this first before The Long Night?
I watched this after The Long Night and I don't think it matters much which order you watch. You have to watch The Bad Kids though, it's the best written from the bunch
Just finished this and while it was quite gripping and thrilling, the first part of the drama far outweighs the second half due to some sloppy writing near the end. The acting by the villains in this drama was so chilling, and Qin Hao did an amazing job as the cunning detective
Not as good as The Bad Kids, but still one of the better crime/mystery dramas in the c-drama world.
Nothing but 30 and Dear Missy are two of my fave female centric, modern slice of life cdramas (aside from Ode…
Yess you definitely have to watch Ode to Joy, I'd call it the blueprint for female centric modern dramas getting popular among cdramas. The friendship dynamic between the 5 ladies was super interesting considering how they were all different ages, had different socioeconomic backgrounds, personalities etc. Compared to the other 2 dramas I feel that Ode to Joy had the most social commentary/life lessons so I'd probs recommend that drama the most!
The only other ones I can think of is a drama on my to-watch list, Danger of Her but that one is more suspense/thriller rather than slice of life. There's also Twenty your Life on but it's moreso involving college girls, I ended up dropping it oop lol
The first episode is subbed!Solid start! It doesnt have the aesthetic and poetic beauty like Nothing But Thirty…
Nothing but 30 and Dear Missy are two of my fave female centric, modern slice of life cdramas (aside from Ode to Joy) and it's great to see that you enjoy those two too! I love Liu Tao and might check this drama out, hope that it's similar to the other dramas I mentioned. Will probably check out Crossroad Bistro later for Jin Chen hehe
So late in finishing this drama but loved it so much! the friendship and chemistry between the 5 leading ladies is undeniable, i loved their sisterhood and also watching them navigate career, family, living in the big city etc. This was the blueprint for female centric modern cdramas and I'm so glad that it became such a hit in China!
I'm so sad that they replaced the original cast for ode to joy s3, the chemistry with these 5 girlies are impeccable and irreplaceable ;; anyway, I'll have high hopes for s3 because they have big shoes to fill...
