Yep. Someone here said, if some other leads were cast for the role, this show will become 7/10 easy.
KSh and KJW are both acting their hearts out, and due to their chemistry, this show is still worth watching.

k drama logic. They want to rile up viewers, so that last two episodes will have high ratings. And producers will get their bonuses lol.

Like someone said, second half of the drama has gone down in writing. SFL just got together with Soo Cheol easily, without much retribution for her actions. The constant screen time of Sml and various plot holes in story.

She is only about money, money and money. That is her whole character basically.

What if when ml and fl gets together, and there may be a breakup. FL may think, ml only approached her for the rights of hotel and not actually loves her. But at that point ml already has fallen hard for her and she misunderstands his feelings.

FR, mother is literal embodiment of someone who force their worldview on others, without giving a shit about other person's feelings. Her main go to argument is " I am doing this for your own good." She is so out of touch with reality. She can make 1000 arguments about why FL should marry that bum, but we know she is only forcing her because bum's family is rich. If bum belonged to poor family, she will not have been this forceful.

Worst FL. She constantly manipulates ML through his love for her. She forced him to become crown prince by saying that "He either becomes crown prince and marry her or she will not marry him". Even though, she knew ML does not want to become crown prince an get embroiled in palace politics, she forced him time and time again and finally he relented. Even though, she is so smart and cunning, she cannot realize the fact that court will never allow her father to keep his army, as world is in peace again and it does not make any sense for a general to have a personal army in peaceful times. So here we are, ML became crown prince and marries her, but she treated ML coldly because court abolished her father's army. ML, literally stood on his knees for hours in rain in front of emperor, to allow him to marry FL as his main wife and not a concubine, but she treats him way too coldly. She blamed ML for getting her father's army disbanded, even though it was court's decision and he never wanted that. Now, ML needs to grovel for her love again (she has done same thing in past eps also).
Its common them in these c-dramas. Especially historical or Xianxia dramas. Male Leads needs to grovel constantly for the love of female leads due to trashy misunderstandings, which is not even a fault of ML. FL in this drama only cares about herself, her family and not give a fu** about ML, if he is not following her wishes.
