It's a symbol of something which has a lot of value, a "treasure" : Jack's desire to "freely" choose his attachments and to realize them. His dreams (a school, education, taekwondo). His emotional bond to someone. His precious memories.
- First Jack's ring is with him. It is undeniably the symbol of the past. What happens to his parents. A memory full of sorrow and pain. Emotional attachment but also Jack's "chaining" to a familial debt.
- Then Jack gives the ring to the Boss. But he does not give this freely, but under pressure. This symbolizes his "chaining" to the Boss. It's a true "enslavement". His job will most likely dehumanize him. And he doesn't want that. Him fooling the Boss by staying true to his heart, this is his way to fight against his situation, as much as he can.
- Jack gives his ring to Joke but he doesn't know it's the Joker. This is done under deception. The deception of fate. He doesn't know he's already linked to another person who will change his life. Both of them are unknowingly drawn to each other, pushed to each other by fate. They cannot escape it. Time and emotional attachment.
- Jack fights for the ring but later gives it willingly to Joke. In fact, he has already forgiven Joke, since then. Without words. He's willing to be "linked" to Joke. Joke has unconsciously understood the meaning of such an "abandonment", almost like a surrender.

And of course the scene where Jacks gives his ring to Joke, shows a link/an affection that will then grow stronger and stronger. Well, an unsaid marriage of some kind.
- But a ring can also remind you of the ring of a chain. Slavery in fact. In this case it symbolizes Jack's unwanted submission to the Boss orders, because of his debt (another jail).
- And then a ("royal") ring is also a symbol of power. It is not for nothing that the Boss displays the ring in his "treasure" room. It shows the extent of his power on people.

It's because it is the uncut version. I think the tv version might be more tightly paced. But it's generally a problem I have with uncut versions. In k or j-versions, I don't think they do those "uncut" version. So it's different.

Also Jack did end up being a debtor. A role he hates absolutely, something he's so averse to. He's in some kind of jail too. And this situation was caused by Joke, involuntarily. Joke's carelessness seems even a little insensitive. Joke may be unhappy, but he still shows behind all that unhappiness that he has the personality of a rich brat, who don't really think about the consequences of his action.

I see several reasons for the "hate".
- First, when they first meet, both felt an instant attraction. It would be different if it was someone Jack's indifferent too. The emotions are stronger in that case.
- Two , Joke has also provoked a situation where Jack was arrested by the police in front of his grandma. His only family ! This hurts even more.
- Three, false hope and crushed dreams. Another one of his dreams has been crushed. The coach betrays him and prefer the rich guy doing taekwando. Then Joke is doing in fact the same. Jack has been used, even for "good" reasons. Joke has lied to him (like Joke has lied to his family about his exam, to make them happy) while he has always been honest. His trust has shattered. So many betrayals. Also he needs someone to blame.

Yep. i've watched again the scene. At the beginning, when Jack is not here, just look at Joke eyes. His eyes are not kind at all. He wants to beat/hurt him lol I guess he changes his mind after Jack comes.
