This seems so interesting, are all the adaptations really connected to each other? I mean by the end you figure…
It's more like a collection of stories taking place in the same huge country. You might find some links or correlations between different series, like some events in one adaptation happened as a consequence of a previous story narrated in another adaptation, but they are almost independent from one another (especially because the novels already adapted into dramas depict time periods really distant from each other in the 10 000 years of Novoland history).
Probably with the adaptations of more novels (there are more than 30 books and many publications and short stories), we'll get a proper chronological history of Novoland, but for now they are still pretty fragmented :)
How are endings typically in these type of stories? Happy, tragic, sad? I noticed the Wuxia world is a mixed bag.…
there's a mixture here too... mainly open, sad or bittersweet endings... the one that i clearly remember having a happy ending is the first season of The Castle in the Sky (actually there are two alternate endings, the second and last one is happier)
Thanks for reading ^^ Tribes and Empires is my favourite one, loved the setting and the characters! Eagle Flag,…
Agree, the cast was awesome! Sometimes when there are more main leads, there's always one that is your favourite or some stories that are not so engaging, but for that series I equally enjoyed all of the three parallel stories :D
I've heard mention of the different lands in movies/dramas, but I've never heard or don't remember hearing Novoland.…
Thanks for reading! Legend of Naga Pearls was quite rushed as a movie and probably didn't mention a lot about the background world, I remember it was more focused on the adventure and the action ^^
Great article! I've watched 2 out of the entire franchise so far - Eagle Flag and Tribes & Empires. I really enjoyed…
Thanks for reading ^^ Tribes and Empires is my favourite one, loved the setting and the characters! Eagle Flag, i've only started the first two/three episodes to get a general feeling of it and it seemed pretty nice (even if i read some reviews saying that the second half is not that good...), I just need to find some time to finish it ;)
I am a big fan of fantasy and have watched all the Novoland dramas and mini-movie. Even so, I'm only vaguely aware…
thanks for reading ^^ as a fantasy lover like you, i've always found the idea behind the creation of Novoland enthralling. even when the stories are a bit weak, i keep getting caught up in the magical world and its settings :D
I really appreciate the MDLers who've been taking time to write up articles like this explaining certain franchises…
i completely agree with you! i wish there were a way for collecting articles and lists that we are interested in... in the suggestion section there's this suggestion here https://kisskh.at/discussions/suggestions/30955-add-ability-to-search-for-people-articles-i-like kind of similar, it's a bit old and only in the medium priority list, but i still hope it will get more votes and admins will consider implementing it >.<
I have a question. So in the Novoland Castle in the sky time-reversal one, is that based on Feng ren and nan yinmeng…
The Castle in the Sky 2 and the spin-off Time Reversal have the same actors, but they play different characters not related to one another. e.g. Wang Yuwen (Uvin Wang), playing Feng Ruche -winged tribe - in Castle in the Sky 2, plays the Human Queen in Time Reversal. Same for Chai Ge who plays Fang Qimo -human- in Castle 2, but plays Feng Ren -winged tribe- in Time Reversal. Probably they filmed both of the two works in the same time and decided to use the same actors .-.
