MDL is not high on search ranking, append 'MDL' and you will get result.

They're not using google btw, otherwise you would have seen 'powered by google' or similar thing in search results. Also there would be connections to google in network tab of developer console too. Most sites, except a few lazy ones 😂, use their own search engine coded into back-end.

Looking at MDL search results and assuming MDL uses SQL as a db, they probably use something like this to search 'WHERE title LIKE %query%'. Problem is that's only a substring search and will match only if a series name 'exactly' contains whatever you searched for. But what if a series name slightly matches your search term? Or maybe there is just a slight difference of commas, apostrophes or semicolons etc? That's where you need to 'approximately' match the string rather than 'exactly' matching it.

Enough technical stuff though, this is a drama/movie discussion forum not stack exchange lol. And, tbh I believe sorting of search results is a much bigger problem rather than search itself. Literal no name series are showing up before the much relevant ones...

Yea, for now, I would say Netflix has better hold on global audience than Prime or Disney+, atleast for kdramas. I bet a lot of MDL userbase are already using Netflix.

IMHO this whole nuisance of multiple streaming platforms has ruined viewer's experience, nothing else. I miss the simple days when you used to make one account and pay monthly there and everything was available there at one place.

There's something called 'fuzzy search' which MDL needs to implement, its a decades old tech and should already be there so I don't know why...

Also they need to sort their search results by rating, viewer count or recency rather than that ignoramus metric that they are using now. Search for "Sweet Home" and you will get what I mean, the relevant series you're looking for is the 6th result, the first five results actually won't make sense at all.

Most of the dog parts, vet stuff or otherwise. The way they focus on dogs is neither interesting nor funny tbh....its just stills of dog doing nothing and discussions of dog problems which are irrelevant to story. I could simply go ahead and watch Dogs Are Incredible for all that stuff, why would I watch this?

Also having vet FL doesn't justify wasting so much screen-time concentrating on dogs, Noble, My Love had one too but they didn't.
