Some scenes I personally liked from today's released eps:
1. Mrs.Z asking 2nd uncle to go to 4th uncle's house during the fest. 2nd uncle knew what it meant but didn't get angry, shows how much he cherishes and respects Mrs.Z.
2. ML calling Mrs. Z "Mom" for the first time.
3. The discussion between lead couples n Mrs.Z beside the lake and the painting done by ML from memory. With just the painting, he said many things to Mrs.Z.
4. Grandma and kids going to Shanghai for a sleepover, that scene was wholesome on another level. It kinda reminds me of my childhood days where families would visit each other and you have people sleeping everywhere.
Still, the strongest point of this drama has to be the acting from everyone. Some may not be outstanding and forgettable, but never bad.
Positives: 1. Love the acting from all the actors. 2. Love that certain information is not thrown at your face, let the camera and setting do the talking. For example, we could tell the MLs family is old money from their house and family administration. There's no explicit explanation given. 3. Love the pace, it's slow burn, you've been warned if u don't like this kind of story telling. 4. Love the atmosphere. There's the romantic side of things where the ML and FL are figuring each other out and there's the ML family's undercurrent feud. It's mentioned in tidbits and not much explanation is given, but we know it's gonna explode in the future eps. 5. No loud/swoon/school girl voice/acting and lovey dovey stuf, all conversations sound pretty natural.
Negatives (not much): 1. I find it difficult to accept that the ML still struggles with simple things like hugging. Understandable in the beginning, but not after how much time they've spent together.
Separate note: Watching them spend time together reminds me of the song "An invitation to daily life" by Shin Hae Chul. I feel that the things they do together are nothing fancy like most series, just normal everyday stuff and yet very wholesome.
Ending Note: I feel that it deserves at least an 8.5 rating.
TBH I've seen all her dramas you've mentioned. I didn't think too much of her in eternal love (I know ppl loved her), I thought she was good in Long Ballad, it's just that I feel she has risen to another level in YAMG. It's like a power up if you're into anime :D.
Yea, especially given how it's all on-your-face/exaggerated expressions in this sea of romantic dramas.
Edit: I started watching sweet teeth yesterday but stopped after 1st episode. It's not bad at all but I will need to detox from YAMG first to start with another drama properly :D.
i am reading a chinese discussion about why YuTu kissed QJJ in the KTV. Quite a pro and cons about this.https://www.douban.com/group/topic/242021697/My…
One of the drawbacks of translated media. Unless the translator is extremely fluent/knowledgeable in the language and culture of the subjects involved, the translated material can have very mild impact or totally miss the point.
I was also a bit surprised by YT's action in the KTV but it's kind-of understandable since JJ said a person in love would be reckless and won't overthink. However, at the same time, what he did was in public and could have unexpected/negative impact on her career.
Honestly, i have a mixed feeling about that scene, or i'm "overthinking" as JJ said :D
Side note: It's nice to see people discussing things in civil manner in this drama's comments. Usually u see blind hate or banter in these comments.
No worries, I think it's how WeTV have implemented fast track. It's possible that they've locked fast track not just to the app but also to just the device where it was purchased/unlocked from.
Since WeTV is blocked in my country, even though I can watch VIP (purchased long time back) using VPN, I can't buy the fast track ones because of google/android in-app purchase restriction.
So, if anyone is willing to purchase only the fast track episodes, I can share my WeTV account.
PM me if interested.
Note: This is a repost, just desperate to watch the latest eps, pls don't hate :P.
Fyi, right now YAMG was currently top 5 best seller tencent video. meanwhile no.1 doulou continent anime ver,…
I'm both surprised and not surprised at the same time for duolo continent. Surprised because it's a donghua and not everyone likes it, not surprised because it IS very very good.
I would've loved to see people's/staff's reactions to their relationships
