The book....oh the BOOK! Watch this series (it's amazing), then read the book for the rest of the story. The ending is so over the top romantic, I was bawling. It's available translated on Wattpad.
WOW, amazing. I was bawling by the last scene. Just some advice for anyone living in Canada, this movie is available via the Cineplex app for the same price as the TFC app. We tried that one first and it was a disaster. It wouldn't load on our smart TV via the app or the website. I was able to play it on my iPad, but when I Airplayed it to the TV, the subtitles didn't appear. Luckily I had enough Scene points to get it for free via Cineplex. :-) Either way, at $5.99 it's completely worth it, just a beautiful film.
I finished this series a few days ago and sat with it in my mind before commenting. While it was funny....in some parts hilarious...I found the overall plot quite sad. The whole dynamic of the "boylet" and his older sponsor is somewhere between prostitution and exploitation. I'm married to a Filipino and we have visited the country many times. Unfortunately it's real and widespread. I find it depressing. I'm glad that in the end, Dioni decided to move on. I hope I'm not overthinking a series that's meant to be light-hearted and funny.
Okay. Overall I LOVED season one, loved it. But this episode was ridiculous. You travel halfway around the world to surprise the love of your life only to be confronted by a situation that looks bad...so you turn around and fly all the way home? I've flown LA-Taipei and Vancouver-Taipei, it's a long-ass-flight. GMAFB. You would at least find out what the hell is going on. Stupid.
Glad it's wrapped up. Like most of the other posters, I loved Ely and Gerome together. The rest of it was just a mess. If you have ever seen the John Waters films Pink Flamingos and Female Trouble this series will make a lot more sense....you could almost call it a tribute to those movies.
OK this was just meh. The pacing is way off...at the beginning Jaime is crushing on Win big time, then halfway through the series he acts confused that he’s falling for Win. Huh? Also his (lack of) feelings for Heart didn’t match up with the way he acted towards her. Lead people on much? My final gripe was all of the philosophical babbling. With such short episodes we don’t have time for that.
